I'm from Phoenix and we have a building for the day labors to go and people that want to hire them can go there. I get so mad every time I drive by it. I say get a BIG bus and go get the illegals and take them back..... or go to any Home Depot and there are hundreds there waiting for work. I say round them up. I'm sure the illegals are laughing there *** off at the Americans.

I live in Northern VA and I am so tired of going to 7-11 to get a some coffee just to have my truck surrounded by 10+ "day laborers" wanting to know if I want to hire them.

The funniest video I ever saw on the internet was of a guy that picked up a bunch of "day laborers" on the pretense of helping him move. They all piled in the back of his pick up and instead of driving to his "house" he drove them to the local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office. When they realized where they were, they jumped out of the truck and scattered like rats. LMAO

If caught with workers on your property who can't prove they are here legally , then fine the person who's property is , like a DWI . Heavy fines , home insurance premium increases , classes to show how their actions effect all wages and NO EXCUSES !
Put the burden on us !
In the year 2005 not one American in ALL of America was fined for hiring a illegal alien , zero !
Make the laws about Americans , not these poor illegal Latinos . Go after the people hiring ( you know ; me and you ).

First off John, My heart goes out to all of your brothers who gave their live on 9-11. The sacrifice all firefighters and police make at all times makes you all a hero in my book, regardless of your political leanings, color, race, gender et. al. Salute and hats off.

As for your point, no arguement there. What would be your opinion if the illegal on your "property" was hired by a company that you contracted? What if the illegal had obtained a counterfeit green card?

I guess the question is, where do you draw the line. Do you fine an employer for hiring an illegal, even if the illegal gave the employer a bogus green card?
If not, what about the employer who knew the green card was bogus, even may have provided the bogus card. How do we distinguish the difference?

Next let's consider the effect on the employment opportunities of the LEGAL Mexican population. What employer would want to hire any Mexican if there is a chance that they will be fined? would this not put the Mexican legals at a huge disadvantage?

Lets move on to this. Let's say we can wave the magic wand and make this work perfectly. All employers stop hiring illegals. Now what do we do with the millions of illegals that are in the country? If they stay, they starve. We now create a third world country within our country. so, this means that the illegals must somehow find their way back over the boarder.

This is a complex issue that required a multi-level response.

So, to your idea, I would add:

1. seal the boarders to dramatically reduce the number of illegals crossing the boarder

2. accelerate deporting illegals, once back across the boarder, the tigh boarders should keep most in Mexico.

3. Create a green card that is extremely expensive to counterfeit but easy to verify. (just like our money)

4. Create a national ID card with the same complexity of the green card.

5. Amend the law to declare that babies born in the US who's parents are illegal, do not get automatic citizenship.

There is probably more I can add, but for now that should be a good start.

Here in Florida, it's erroneous to equate "day laborer" with "illegal". Most of our temporary staffing agencies employ Caucasian men who have no trace of accent, because they and their parents were BORN here in this country...and don't speak a lick of Spanish.

Now, the companies that contracted us OUT often had Hispanics working for THEM...but they weren't at the day labor place.

I live near Gainesville Fl and all day laborers are employed or hired out from temporary staffing agencies. This is the way it should be. Day laborers should not be allowed to congregate on street corners or Home Depot parking lots. Illegal day laborers are a eyesore and a nuisance to the public.

Thank you...I agree.

In the parking lot of Home Depot? There should be a complaint filed with the management, so that they can call the authorities to issue a trespass warning. No loitering.
