day labor
I'm as liberal as one can get , but to give rights to someone here illegal is wrong ! Maybe your right , we shouldn't target these poor illegal immigrants , we should target our legal Americans who hire them. Plan and simple , fine anyone who hires a day laborer for their homes . Are you listening Freehold , N.J. ? How about you Mamaroneck , N.Y. ? You can't actually target the people here illegally ( I don't know why . Ask the Times ? ) so go after the people hiring .
If caught with workers on your property who can't prove they are here legally , then fine the person who's property is , like a DWI . Heavy fines , home insurance premium increases , classes to show how their actions effect all wages and NO EXCUSES !
Put the burden on us !
In the year 2005 not one American in ALL of America was fined for hiring a illegal alien , zero !
Make the laws about Americans , not these poor illegal Latinos . Go after the people hiring ( you know ; me and you ) . Make your laws against Americans and hold them fences . If cities across America realize that Americans hiring these illegals are the problem and fine them ... any fence built now or in the future , will be knocked down by these illegals rushing back home !
Americans must be made to know that being here illegally is wrong , but hiring illegals is worse and you will be held accountable .

Put the prisoners to work make them pick the apples and harvest our oranges.
Then put some of our spoiled rotten teenagers to work in place of those day workers. I had to work at 16..some of these kids today are 25 and still are irresponsible morons who can't hold a job because their parents never taught them responsibility.
Put down the I-pod and grab a broom. That should be the name of the campaign.
Yes, fine the daylights out of people who hire illegals. I say shut them down for a good month or so for every infraction. Pretty soon the illegals will have no money and have to go back home. But they will have to get over that wall first. Cause I would still build it! Using labor of our incarcerated population.

I can't respond on Mamaroneck but I can on Freehold. Do you know the story of illegal immigrants in Freehold, NJ. Do you know that the town council fought hard for many years to alleviate the problems with illegals in the boro. The town council had to back down to all the outside pressure. If they were to continue trying to keep the problems with illegals in check they would have wound up in court for many years years at a cost that the boro couldn't absorb. It seems that many liberal lawyers from outside the boro have NO PROBLEM in representing the illegals at no cost to them. The town tried to set up a muster zone (where they could keep an eye on the contractors hiring these people) and it got shot down just like the one in Lakewood NJ did. The illegals in Lakewood said "it was unsafe for them to travel to the muster site". The town (Freehold) also started investigations of homes with absentee landlords. If they find housing violations they fine the landlord. It has worked on a limited basis but it's obviously not the cure. also Illegal immigration started many years ago in the Freehold area due to the tremendous amount of farms in the area. They used to follow the crop route and most were migrant workers that would leave the area once the crops were picked. Nowdays with most farms being replaced by new home development the illegals have found a new way to survive. The local landscapers almost exclusively hire immigrants. They work cheap and they work hard. Also for your information many of the so called "legal immigrants" are actually illegal. It seems that many of the immigrants are able to buy anothers identity (60 minutes) and are able to get into this country legally. They then go to work "legally" and pay taxes and into social security. The one that enjoys these benefits is the guy sitting on a beach in Puerto Rico sipping a Pina Coalda having someone else work with his identity. Many times when immigrants get into trouble in Freehold the authoritys find out that the person there dealing with is not the person that they have I.D. for. So the bottom line is Freehold has tried to check the illegals and the contractors that hire them but outside forces are too great for them to fight.

The problem is that the ACLU, La Razza, and organizations like those try to make it a race issue, rather than what it really is--breaking of our laws by MILLIONS of poor uneducated people every year. We keep hearing about how all the illegals in this country are making it so much better. Please tell that to anyone who lives in a town that has a large illegal population. These people know the truth behind illegal immigration--drugs, crime, poor schools, financially ruined healthcare...the list goes on. This is not to say that many illegals are good people, but the problems I just laid out are undeniable IMO.
