Also, e-verify does not catch all of them when they are using a stolen identity which most to in order to work illegally in the USA as they do not have a right to work in the USA. They enhanced the system in 2013, but some can still slip through, like slime does, you know, it can be hard to stop.
We already have a law to do that: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/penalties
We need to secure the border to help cut off the supply since our politicians refuse to tighten the noose on employers, TX in particular has an issue: https://www.texastribune.org/2016/12...ented-workers/ and note this is both Dems & the GOP.
e-verify works very well. There is plenty of detail in the article, it was the Air Force who ran the Social Security #'s through CLETS (California law enforcement database) The employer did what 90% of employers do, they knowingly hire illegal immigrants as long as they can give them a social security number because we allow that to happen. The employers are the problem, people who cross the border to work for $10 an hour instead of 75 cents are acting in a perfectly rational manner, it's our job to prevent them from getting jobs so that there will be no incentive to enter the US. If Canada offered jobs at $100 an hour don't you realize how many American's would be finding a way to illegally enter that Country and get those jobs?

no it won't. Nothing happened to the employer so he probably has already replaced those employees with other undocumented workers

Why do you like to dismiss everything with your negative speculation?

Do you really want to argue that an employer who hires undocumented employees and never gets in trouble for doing so suddenly has an epiphany and decides to hire only citizens?

The base can fire the employer. Maybe the employees had illegal SSN. Maybe the employer does have a change of heart. I have no idea and neither do you. But you are quick to dismiss great news based on your negative speculation.

So where did they get their SS numbers? Are they stolen and how does the victim feel about this?

These guys have been skirting the law for years and finally got caught. They knew what they were doing but the risk was worth the reward.

Let's hope that with the new sheriff in DC that the military official who called ICE on these guys will not face disciplinary action like he would have undoubtedly if Obama was still in charge. It sounds like he was doing his job without fear of reprisals.

I agree. Criminal charges need to be brought against anyone that hires an illegal. I include in this suburban housewives hiring gardeners and house cleaners. If illegals can't find employment they'll go back home.

The social security numbers are usually from dead people. I am not sure what your point is in bringing Obama into the discussion but whatever floats your boat
