But for some immigrant moms, this Mother's Day is bittersweet.
With President Donald Trump's call for tightened immigration enforcement, mothers who are in the country illegally have something else to think about: Who will take care of their children if they're deported?
Many parents are taking steps for Plan B, what they once deemed the unthinkable, drawing up documents that will ensure their children have legal guardians in the United States in case they're deported.
Parents who are undocumented immigrants say they have no choice but to have these kinds of conversation with their children: Don't open the door. Don't answer questions. Assert your constitutional rights. And if Mom and Dad are deported, here's what to do.
"My daughter cries when we talk about the possibility of leaving. 'No, mami, I don't want you to go,' she cries," said Mireya, a San Bernardino mom of three.
On a lighter note if a law breaking illegal immigrant mom gets arrested and deported they have a choice to bring their kids with them. If a law breaking legal immigrant mom gets arrested she goes away for months or years with limited visiting hours to see her kids.
Why are they so frightened? They have more options then most moms who break the law.
If the kids are not anchor babies can't they be deported along with law-breaking Mom?
Come next month will there be an equally heart-rendering thread regarding law-breaking fathers?
Of course they can, but it depends on where the parents are caught. However, I did read an article about a father who was stopped at a traffic stop and only he was taken even though the rest of the car were illegal. The reasoning was ICE was only looking for him.
They can just take their children with them. One country, Mexico has been openly talking about protecting Mexicans in the United States, so I'm sure they wouldn't mind illegal mothers just bringing their children with them, who happen to be citizens of the USA.

Do they have fathers? Seriously, most of the stories it is a mom with the magic 4 anchor babies and whatever she brought illegally across the border with her. A father with wages in the house would decrease the public assistance for the anchors.
There was an article that many from Mexico that are here illegally are applying for dual-citizenship for their anchor babies in order for them to go back to Mexico with them. I was impressed by that even though I strongly oppose there being here in the first place, they are taking some personal responsibility.
I have always disliked hearing a parent in the store threaten to leave their kid there if such and such behavior doesn't stop, and this is much worse. This damages the child by harping on this leaving them behind. My guess is that 99.9% to 100% of children with decent parents want to be with those parents no matter where it is or what the living conditions are.
These illegal aliens acting this way basically give the impression that they are just horrible people that would leave their kids behind so they can continue to get that public assistance check. I feel sorry for the children whose parents care so little about them, especially those that go out in the public and talk about leaving them behind. Kind of like turtles that lay their eggs on the beach and just swim away.
