That's often what's done at the moment from my understanding. Ice is usually notified upon entry or shortly thereafter and they decide if they want to use resources to pick them up or not. Some places here in Florida only notify for serious crimes or at the request of the prisoner

Home? That would be where an illegal alien's from, NOT a place in NYC.

That doesn't have anything to do with what I said. I'll let other decide that.

And you may be next. Don't think you are so special.

Your ethnicity just may get YOU kicked out
I'm a US citizen, both of my parents were US citizens. If I was here illegally, I'd def be worried about being booted out.

Then YOU need to be arrested by the feds and charged with harboring illegal aliens, Mr O'Neill.
Stop seeking funds from the federal government NYC.

They cannot force the NYPD and NYS government to become an immigration agency. As New Yorkers, we won't be coerced to target immigrants with minor blemishes on their record. It's not like the NYPD is here releasing thousands of murderers and rapists back into the community. Trump and his administration have their priorities messed up.

The present administration is going after citizens as well as legal and illegal aliens. So no the issue is not confined to illegals.

Police officers swear to uphold the law, if state law conflicts with federal law, the supremacy clause is in effect. Police individually may elect not to enforce a statute, they have discretion, as a policy for a department, the city, county or state could suffer significant cuts in aid, to permit hiring of additional immigration enforcement officers.
