Most of these illegals make more than $100 tax free a day.

Day labor in the bay won't work for less than $20 an hour.

I'm not surprised. But, my question is, why go after the people? Go after the businesses that are hiring them. They are breaking the law by hiring workers without paying taxes or insurance on them. Amazing, with all of the regulations California has, it's sickening that this stuff keeps slipping through the cracks.

It's called talking out of both sides of your mouth. The HAVE to act like they're doing something about it for the voters, while not upsetting their donors. Of course the vast majority of pople who are gung ho deportation aren't smart enough to realize that

Go after both. Do you only go after the chop shop that buys the stolen car?

We should be going after both since both are breaking the law!

Sometimes you gotta let the little fish go to catch the big ones. We do not have the resources to go after everyone. Prioritize

Trust me, Illegals ain't doing stuff like roof-jobs and masonry for "pennies".

And those Illegals doing piece-work in crop-harvesting......if they are fast, they can make big bucks.

Go after both. Both the criminal aliens and the businesses hiring them are breaking the law-both should be prosecuted.

Making $100 a day is not a lot, but even so, let's try to use our brains:

Do you really think that employers will hire illegals and give them MORE than what they would spend on equivalent legal domestic labor?

Of course not. You may find some exceptions, but basic economic logic tells me that there must be a positive ROI - i.e., a cost savings - for them to hire illegal immigrant over legal domestic labor.
