This might not end well when a would be Social Justice Warrior moves to block ICE from arresting someone and they get roughed up for getting in the way.
We all know what the headline will be TRUMP's ICE agents beat up citizen like the jack booted thugs they are. Trump's Nazi like ICE coming to a city near you to round up everyone.
The Lefty media will be having a field day and of course they will take the side of the law breakers and those who will also break the law by harboring them.

To be fair: MOST Americans won't say "boo" about ICE doing their job. Look at the Comments sections under Yahoo, LA Times, Wash Post and so on: those comments seem to run about 7 to 1 AGAINST illegal aliens.
When ICE STARTS cracking down, MANY leave ON THEIR OWN as has been the case elsewhere.
A serious question for you
Do Los Vegas politicians an law enforcement take an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the Unite states"?
never mind, I fond it
"1/000.01OATH OF OFFICE

Other than the sheriff, I'm not sure who makes these decisions. The County Commision perhaps? The sheriff runs Metro, but I don't know who makes the decisions on such things for the jails. The jails probably have autonomy and are allowed to make these decisions for themselves. We are a small govt. state, and the mayor has no power and is a figurehead. The county and city commissions are mixed between dem and rep. The city you think of as Las Vegas is actually four different entities. Three of them have mayors, and two have their own police forces in addition to Metro.
There really isn't a consolidation in power here, as we are very close to libertarian. If I had to guess, I think the casinos are calling the shots on this one. And the casinos only take an oath to Wall Street.
Ps. The constitution doesn't actually address whether or not the state or the Feds will enforce and pay for border control, and Nevada has no law about immigration.
Well that's the gist of it then. The Feds need to reimburse them for housing them. However, who incurs the costs when Americans are jailed?
I'm pretty sure it is coming down to economics. No state income tax. Very low property taxes, so very little government, and that's kind of how Southern Nevada likes it. Ain't a soul here that would vote themselves a tax increase to tackle the problem that belongs to the Feds.
We can be certain of that. Obama blocks everything he could when it came to keeping those illegal aliens here until after the vote last November.
How did you end up with the highest number? I suspect rolling out the red carpet for them, businesses wanting the cheap and exploitable labor. Las Vegas reeks of "sanctuary city".
Anxiously await an increase in workplace raids to really get the ball rolling!
It was more than obvious that the issue with Las Vegas is the cheaper and exploitable illegal alien labor.
The housing boom that occurred in 2004 or so. Before that, I had never encountered an illegal alien at the medical facility I was running. We always had plenty of Hispanics, but they were the legal variety, or at least insured. The construction jobs drew them here, and they put down roots.
I'm not sure raids would work. A good many of these people are probably illegals, but their documents ( false or not ) pass I-9. There is no way that the two major casino companies would risk their gaming licenses by hiring a person whose documents wouldn't get by an auditor.
Who are they going to raid? Some random construction site? A convenience store?
There used to be documents available at vendors at our indoor swap meet on the east side. These documents would pass muster for I-9 inspection and were available for about $500. The cops raided them more than once, but they just moved around.
At some point, after many years, these people either had spouses or children that were, or became, American citizens.
We spend SO much money on education for ESL children. It's put a strain on our underfunded school district. Deportations, at this point, is a little too late.
This problem will not be solved until we can stop the flow, address birthright citizenship, and look at our criteria for entry in the first place. We also have to decide what to do about the families with children that are American citizens, the dreamers, who are innocent victims, and people who own businesses and property, and are genuinely contributors. It is called " comprehensive immigration reform" and anytime any politician mentions that, they are met with outrage from the right.
I want the importation of poverty stopped. We can't afford it, but the deportation police is not the answer without a comprehensive reform of the way we are doing business now.
Or, we can pull their funding like they are going to do CA. We aren't going to give you Fed $ to not do your job it was to be spent on.
Whose funding would you pull? The city, which doesn't even house the strip? The entire county where several cities are involved? The whole state which is theoretically run by a Republican governor in Northern Nevada, where everyone is white? C'mon now.
Oh and like CA, we are net positive into what we pay in, vs. give out. So you crying about you giving us money, falls on deaf, and possibly pissed ears to us. Maybe we just tell the Feds to stuff it? Tell them to take a hike? That could get really ugly, real fast. Remember how that Bundy standoff went here? Everyone here is armed. If they want to play hardball, this is the wrong state to do it in. They'd be better off either ignoring us and our illegal problem ( which we'd probably prefer ) or writing a big fat check.
I'm not a fan of the costs we've had to bear because the Feds didn't do their jobs. Illegal immigration is a net importation of poverty, which has hurt us. So pay up, or shut up. We ain't doing your jobs for free.

We are NOT talking about border control.
We are talking bout illegals being here. They BROKE THE LAW.
It is AGAINST THE LAW to aide, harbor or ASSIST an illegal in ANY WAY. PERIOD
