Asplundh, corporation that trims trees for electric companies and has 30,000 employees, has been fined $95 million for hiring thousands of illegal aliens.
They were in my backyard last year whacking my oak tree. One tree climber with the chain saw spoke English, the rest of the crew looked like they were from Central America countries. I wonder how many had a real Visa/green card.

95 M's a LOT of money. Maybe that will spook more companies who hire known illegal aliens to back off and, hire Americans or at least legal aliens.

Yeah, "real Americans" are lining up for tree-trimming jobs.

Wait. No, they're not. They'd sooner get a part-time job at a dispensary. "Party on, Wayne! Party on, Garth!"

Where is your proof that they aren't lining up for those jobs for a fair wage and that they don't have to speak Spanish to get them?

I have visual proof. Check SoCal and get back to me. Speaking Spanish has nothing to do with it. Landscaping companies would love more English speakers to get hired on. Bilinguals have a huge advantage—YUGE!

Since when does cutting the grass require two languages. I have seen people cut the grass in languages other than English and Spanish.

Asplundh specialty is dispatching large crews to clean up after problems on short notice. Very similar in some ways to the itinerant farm worker who follows the harvest. It is for many people a very unattractive job.

Thus the illegal workers.

These guys apparently had a pattern of doing it with corporate approval. That will get you hung if you get caught. And that is the right outcome.

But it is very difficult to see this on smaller local companies. The guy in the kitchen of the local sushi bar is not going to get picked up,

Really?

My brother does tree-trimming and he is an American. The company we use to trim our trees has Americans come to do the work.

All my cousins trim trees and maintain home gardens, too. They're Americans.

(Read between the lines.)
