Nah, that's not it. Studies & statistical analyses say that immigrants to the US, documented & undocumented, tend to have lower rates of incarceration & violent crime.

Which makes sense. If people come here to work & send money back, or to save up & return themselves, they're trying to avoid detection, which means avoiding the police & immigration authorities. But if we have bad actors in the population,
by all means - arrest them & prosecute them. If we could be sure they'd stay put in their native country, I'd say send them back immediately. If we want to be sure of their punishment - possibly capital in the case of the police @ hand - if found guilty of a capital crime, we should carry out the sentence.
We need to be very clear on our laws - murder is not acceptable. Rape, drug running - there's a whole list of crimes - are not acceptable. We may need the labor, we don't need random acts of crime, especially crimes against persons. Those crimes are bad for everyone, foreign & domestic, & the sooner we apprehend & prosecute any violators, the better.
