I dunno exactly what charges brought him to attention but there are 2 they aren't mentioning he got in addition to those 2 already mentioned.
1 was a dui
2 was a domestic violence charge ( i believe this one was dropped so no conviction)
also of mention is that 1 of the early charges he received as a minor was receiving stolen property.
Things that can get a green card holder deported that they may not be aware of.
voting
stealing or in possession of stolen firearms
not updating your address with immigration
any crime of moral turpitude (murder, rape, spousal or child abuse, dog fighting, the list is long so its basically a catchall)
This guy is no saint. Does he deserve to get deported, probably not and my guess is he won't be.
Why is that scary? If they are here illegally then they should be deported, like any other sensible country does. Just like you would expect to happen to you if you were in some other country illegally.
Weird, I posted a thread on this and I think it got deleted.
Why does everyone keep referring to people here illegally? This guy was a legal resident who's been here for decades. Remember the first Muslim ban and how they were stopping people at the airport who were green card holders? What a mess.
Why did ICE target this guy? What happened to focusing on gang members, which is something all Americans support deporting?
A Polish doctor who has lived in the U.S. for nearly four decades has been jailed and faces deportation for two decades-old misdemeanor charges, the Washington Post reports.
Lukasz Niec, who was arrested on Tuesday morning, is a lawful permanent resident who has lived in Michigan since childhood and has an American wife, daughter, and stepdaughter, his sister told the Post. He does not speak Polish and has no family there, she said.

In the past, immigration officials have prioritized the deportation of immigrants with a history of violent crimes. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the Trump administration, however, has shifted its priorities, sweeping up a broader group that more frequently includes low-level offenders and those without criminal records.

It appears that each administration deports more illegals and green card holders than the previous administration, with not making much of a distinction between major/minor crimes with green card holders. If green card holders committed a crime, even a minor one, out they'd go ... suddenly it's a thing to get upset about? Why were people not upset in the past?(oh yea, because it's Trump who is doing it now)
In obama's first term, he was surpassing the number of deportations that bush had done(though, most of the illegals that were deported had simply re-entered across the porous border). The deportation numbers fell dramatically during obama's second term, no matter if it was criminal green card holders or illegals.

Over the decades, tens of thousands of legal residents have been deported for relatively minor offenses. But under previous administrations, immigration authorities have often let low-level offenders off the hook, prioritizing the deportations of violent criminals. A memo from the Obama administration in 2011 directed immigration officials to look at a number of factors, such as familial relationships with U.S. citizens, criminal history, education and contributions to the community, in deciding whether arrests and prosecution are warranted, as The Post’s Kristine Phillips reported.
Past admins have deported green card holders, including the obama's admin. It wasn't until 2011 where he decided to overlook most of the green card holders who'd been involved with petty crimes...but suddenly, it's a thing?
IDK, minor crime(s), where no one was harmed, committed by green card holders, I really don't see that as grounds for deportation.

Yep. All of the leftist media, and those on the left themselves, refer to illegals as 'immigrants'. They just can't bring themselves to say illegal, so, naturally people are going to think 'illegal' when immigrant is used, until the story makes the distinction(if it ever does).

an earlier poster was convoluting a set of details pertaining to illegal aliens with this story about a permanent resident.
I dont understand why he didn't obtain citizenship in his long years being here, especially being a doctor.
Well, we all know, anyone is subjected to deportation if someone commits a crime under a green card.
You must have missed this part:

Very sad and very scary for people who have lived here for decades contributing to our country.
They wouldn't have to be scared if they didn't break laws that get them deported. Same goes for illegal aliens. Should we just give them a pass just because they have been here for a long time?
