My Ex gf actually hired illegals for $10/hr to help her with her kitchen remolding business. She saved like $50k in a year. She thought it was funny. She wasnt even American. The illegals were shotty workers, but apparently good enough. She had to have some of the work tore up and fixed.

Democrats in California are hellbent on protecting illegals because it means more votes for them. If all the illegals were to go back, then the rest of So Cal (except for Los Angeles county) will turn red.

Not sure about that as most Calif. citizens are liberals and vote Democrat anyway. Not sure what the number is of illegal aliens voting in Calif. either. Our minority population outnumbers our white population and they tend to vote Democrat. Much of the white population are liberals here to.

Even if most illegals don't vote, placating the illegal population also placates many of their relatives/supporters/voting citizens. That's the big goal of the Dem Party. One only need look at the distinctions between how Democrats in Bill Clinton's time vs. modern Democrats treat the issue.

I don't see this lawsuit going anywhere.

The truth is you cannot do police work in a city like LA or San Diego and not have at least some kind of policy that gets called "sanctuary." You will never have people report crime if they are going to get asked for their papers by responding officers. That's not their job, and they're stretched thin enough without doing ICE's work.

It's a bit of a realpolitik matter.

Anyone suspected of an infraction of the law is asked for their ID, it's routine. I fail to understand when a suspect is a known illegal alien how calling ICE is doing ICE's work. It's called cooperation between different LE agencies.

What if that person is not a suspect, but could have information on one?

Not sure what you're asking here. Are you asking what should one do if they have knowledge of an illegal alien here or if they have knowledge of any who has broken the law. IMO, it's our civic duty to report either or.

Let's say there's a murder in East LA. You're a detective for LAPD.

You have potential witnesses. Some (all) may not have their papers.

Do you think any who don't have their papers is going to have anything to do with your investigation, if you are just going to call ICE? No. You have an unsolved murder.

Sorry but I don't believe in protecting criminals to catch other criminals.
