I hope these agents are haunted by their kids faces for the rest of their lives.

This incident occurred in the town of Delano which is 78% Hispanic, so if they were just out looking for Hispanics, they certainly had a lot to choose from. Apparently ICE went to the couples' house looking for another guy who was up for deportation when the couple got scared and took off in their car. ICE wasn't just going around looking for any old Hispanic. They had someone particular in mind when they went to the home. They followed the couple and signaled for them to pull over which they did, but then they took off when the agents got out of their car. Things went to chit after that.

This article has a little more info on the incident:

You've got a point about the putting on a show. That's what he is. An entertainer.

That is one reason why Trump got elected. Americans are sick of our government failing to do its job. However, I agree Trump isn't doing enough, and the Congress isn't doing anything. I don't see much hop for our country in the future.
DOJ is in charge of enforcing federal law, Trump is the President, he appoints the head of DOJ, but what is your point? DOJ has had decades to require INS to enforce immigration law, during that time how many employers have been prosecuted?

Like I said, we're sick of inaction. Are you happy with the DOJ doing nothing?

I see no one that bears the blame for the inaction getting blamed. This isn't necessarily directed to you specifically as I really don't know where you stand but people want to blame everyone but those who could actually do something.

In large part that is why they don't.

I'm sick of business interests dictating which laws are enforced, employers need to be held responsible for hiring people here illegally, if necessary ICE should be doing sting operations so they can catch employers in the act. We do it with drug dealers, gun runners, smugglers but never with employers who hire illegals, don't you ever wonder why? Instead they pick off a few illegals here and there and act like they are actually doing something.

If people who come here illegally can't get jobs they will leave, it's really that simple but the Chamber of Commerce, Agra and construction organizations will fight every attempt to punish employers for hiring illegal immigrants. The CoC was under a lot of pressure to back off their position against e-verify (they sued Arizona to stop it) so they finally said they approved of it, but only "if" there were no sanctions against employers if they chose not to use it. Agra spends millions on lobbyists getting legislators to vote against any legislation that would cut down on their workforce suggesting carve outs in e-verify legislation specifically for small farms and 'critical industries' that rely upon immigrant labor. Mandatory e-verify was one of Rick Scott's campaign promises but he seems to have had an epiphany after Florida agriculture donated $440,000 to him.

I agree with the above. No argument.

Both Sleepy and I want our laws enforced. Because we will not defend those who say the right things but don't do them to further ones politics we get labelled as pro-illegal.

The irony is it's the opposite in reality.

I as I believe Sleepy is also is a realist. It matters none what I want or what I think, we can not deport 30 million or more people. It can't be done.

There are others on the "other side" that continue to do things that drag out any solutions no matter how imperfect also.

I don't think we disagree as much as you think. I'm open to whatever works, but I don't accept doing nothing.
