Come on people. We act like we can't figure a way out of this. Anyone ever heard of mechanization? A few years ago when farm labor shortages started showing up, the research on farm technologies and mechanization have exploded. This will have to be the way we go anyway, so might as well start now. And for the illegal alien supporters, better go ask your friends why they don't like to work at farms anymore. There are millions of them here as we speak and they are working at poultry farms, construction sites, janatorial firms, restaurants, you name it. They don't want to do farm jobs either. Don't blame immigration law for this.

I bet if you cut back on government hand outs, when people get cold, broke and hungry they'd be willing to pick tomatoes. We enable laziness here, so it and you'll find workers.
Last time I check, PA was NOT a anti-illegal immigrant state compared to others that have enacted laws against it. I don't see him going out of business either, he's changing to corn (guess what, so are most farmers in this country.... makes more money with the ethanol rhetoric). I think this farmer is liar, I think he wanted to change to corn long before this and he wanted to eat his cake as well with illegal cheap workers. I hope he goes out of business, his business I don't need... unless he wants to pay for ALL the social costs of taking care of illegal immigrants instead of me... the silence is deafening..
Ive been growing my own for years. Wouldnt dream of buying those overpriced, tasteless grocery store tomatos.
All Right!! How about selling me some, I'll pay $.80 a pound, delivered. And they will be washed and packed in neat little boxes so they don't bruise on the way, right?
