NO WALL for the foreseeable future due to the Omnibus spending bill passed on Friday.

And no penalties in same bill that would have gone against Sanctuary Cities.

And instead of the 1,000+ BP agents the administration had requested, only a few hundred new hires.

And ICE is required to reduce the number of beds at detention facilities so there can be less detainees.

Do this changes signed by the president, send the signal that it is safe to return to the US?

Just because the entire wall was not funded this time around doesn't mean it won't get funded at a later date. At least Trump got some border security funds this time around but the Dems didn't get their DACA and that's the good part and a win for loyal, law abiding Americans.

People shouldn't party just yet. Trump has almost 3 years left in his term and looks strong to repeat b/c liberals can't find a viable candidate thats a career politician, and the popular celebrities who could make it interesting probably won't make a realistic run.

You (some of you) are way too far behind to catch up to Trump.

Before someone screams ... Not Legal, allow me to repost something that I have already posted in the Political/Other Controversies forum.
(For those who stay far away from that place!)

Apparently, Trump had an ace up his sleeve!
(Or as in this case ... an extra Queen in his chess set)

STATEMENTS & RELEASES Text of a Letter from the President to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate

BUDGET & SPENDING

Issued on: March 23, 2018

Quote:
Dear Mr. Speaker: (Dear Mr. President

In accordance with section 7058(d) of division K of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 (H.R. 1625; the “Act”), I hereby designate as an emergency requirement all funding so designated by the Congress in the Act pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, for the accounts referenced in section 7058(d).

The details of this action are set forth in the enclosed memorandum from the Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

Sincerely,

DONALD J. TRUMP
This was filed ONE hour after the Senate Passed the Bill.

The POTUS invoked the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 (a law Reagan passed) because of out of control debt and now has discretionary control of all the funds.

Here is the order from December 21st declaring the national emergency.

DACA is off the table. DOJ made an end run to SCOTUS to appeal a lower court stay that said trump could not stop DACA while there was a lawsuit before that court. SCOTUS send DOJ back to that court, keeping the stay in place. It is estimated that the lower court will not issue a final DACA ruling for at least ONE YEAR. So.....DACA kids are safe for at least a year. The Dems dropped any deal on DACA, knowing they will take back the House in the mid-terms and easily pass DACA then.

When the Dems win the House in the mid-terms, trump's agenda is dead. He will be a lame duck for all intents and purposes as the GOP will realize what he has done to the party and also realize that with a Dem House, their own agenda is equally dead.

That article is from 2017.

Now that the Omnibus spending law is in effect, it is the ONLY source of funding for this fiscal year. All of the limitations in it about the wall are now in effect.

From Breitbart.

Quote:
Trump has signed the omnibus spending bill despite opposition from conservatives and his base of supporters.

Pro-American immigration reformers have called the omnibus spending bill a “betrayal” to American workers, as it does not authorize construction of a border wall, but does increase the number of foreign workers that will be imported to take blue-collar U.S. jobs every year.
