Dems didn’t seem that concerned about it when it came down to it . Otherwise they would of worked on a deal right ?

There never was a deal on DACA and anyone who thought Trump was going to honor one has not been paying attention. As far as Democrats not wanting a deal, just because you want something doesn't mean you are willing to throw away everything else to get it. There will be plenty of time for a deal - once Republicans are out of power. Thread/

No one has said there was a deal made it was only offered as an exchange for the wall. It was the Democrats that turned it down. They weren't throwing away anything they turned down border security.

The Republicans are in power now but they lack a super majority and I don't see the Democrats being able to make a deal on DACA anymore now or in the future and that's a good thing.

trump does not know the law. DACA only covers those kids brought in by their parents before 2007. His followers lap up his lies. Sad!

OK...time for a reality check.
DACA is in the courts. These courts have said (and SCOTUS refused to overturn) that DACA remains IN EFFECT until there is a ruling. The court expects a ruling IN ABOUT A YEAR. So DACA safe for at least a year. Why the fig would Dems deal on it now?? They can easily wait for midterms and may get a deal DESPITE the nincompoop in the WH.

The point is even after DACA expires Trump has said no to a permanent deal now and it won't pass at a later date either. Here's some facts on DACA.

Obama promised to address this immediately once he was the president. He lied and did nothing. "Promises" are no longer going to be enough.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...=.62d39d28e831

Obama had the White House and large majorities in the House and Senate and did nothing. Why should we believe something would be done now?

Univision anchor Jorge Ramos held Obama accountable for a promise the former Illinois senator made during his 2008 bid for office, when he said, “I can guarantee that we will have, in the first year, an immigration bill that I strongly support.”

“I want to emphasize ‘the first year,’ ” Ramos said. “At the beginning of your governing, you had control of both chambers of Congress, and yet you did not introduce immigration reform. And before I continue, I want for you to acknowledge that you did not keep your promise.”
