Your post indicates you must have a really unusual sense of humor. Do you actually claim to believe that bovine excrement like the 113 Billion? Do I really have to put up the Cato Institute review of that garbage yet again? Can none of you rightist do your own due diligence?
Are you really of the belief that permanent residents cannot hold jobs that could be filled by Americans? Do you know what an H1B is?
Do you really think that driving the undocumented off the books is good for the US?
You can argue the accounting (of their theft) all day long, but it matters not. The argument remains the same.
BTW Permanent residents are LEGAL FFS. They also pay taxes without committing fraud. Their numbers are capped and they can't be criminals and are usually highly educated. SMH.

it hasnt been more than 20 or so years that it has changed... but a lot of the daca fall into this age group
Quote:
Until March 1998, Mexicans who became naturalized US citizens lost their Mexican nationality. This is no longer the case: Mexican-born people as well as their children born abroad can maintain their Mexican ties if they wish.
just saying, if daca kids were brought here before 1998, they should go by the rules of that time period too, since they never "left"/returned to mexico and re-entered the us under the "new" set of rules. if they were to become us citizens, they should follow pre1998 mexican law because they came into the us under those conditions
like how if someone is in jail for a crime, they dont suddenly become innocent if the law is changed... they got prosecuted under the laws of that time
the daca people do not follow any set of laws unless it works in their favor, which is why people do not like them, they have no issues skirting the law for their convenience
edit:i know daca is not just mexicans, but a lot of other countries also did not recognize dual citizenship either. yes, the us did, but these people are not americans
If part of a DACA deal means they won’t be able to get in-state tuition rates I say fine. That’d be a concession I’d be willing to make as long as they get a path to citizenship if that is what they desire.
Some people think allowing DACA special rights over American citizens or legal immigrates who have been waiting sometimes for years to gain entrance into the US is okay, fine. I personal don't.
Okay..so the parents who violated our laws should be deported and take their children with them...works for me.
Would have been a great solution between 1990 and 2000. Now 18 years too late. Too many too deeply integrated into our society and with support from a majority of the citizenry.
Virtually certain they will end up legalized. The question is when?

The waiting time for admission to the USA is a matter of US law. Has nothing to do with illegals or Dreamers. How we choose to treat a particular set of people who have grown up in the US is our decision. The fate of those waiting to legally immigrate is irrelevant to that decision.
There is no connection between the two so fairness is not an issue.
DACA kids have lived almost their entire life in the US. They didn’t ask for the circumstances in which their parents brought them here....in my eyes (and I don’t speak alone) this is their country.
No, actually it isn't. They didn't come here and suddenly become assimilated Americans. Not unless their parents were already Americanized. The idea that these individuals some how are one of us is a complete myth. Some may have. Most required special education and tutors and that was to make them semi-literate at best. Many are in fact criminals. Many didn't come here as infants, most were already established in their homelands.
Sure you don't speak alone. Bleeding hearts abound. Many agree with the other side that DACA is unreasonable and unfair to legal immigrants who are doing things the right way and not forcing themselves upon the rest of us.
