No support for the wall.,
The majority of the illegals come in by air not the border.
There is no place near enough support to implement broad everify.
There are benefits to non citizens and they will remain. They are taxpayers.
Many if not most are not criminals. They are deportable but have committed no crime.
The laws are simply unenforceable. Way too expensive.
I find the above rather naive...
One: the majority of people who come by air come with a visa so they are not illegal at the time of their arrival, only after their visa expires. And yes the US government has a problem keeping track of over stayers. But the majority of illegal aliens do come across our southern border.
Two: It should be the responsible of the employer to verify if a employee is eligible for work be it e-verify or what ever. If the US government would implement e-verify the problem of hiring illegals would go away and a lot would self deport because jobs would dry up. It seems to me its mostly democrats and some republicans who are not behind e-verify.
Three: While there are laws about non-citizens getting benefits they are mostly ignored in places like California. The fact is there is a difference between non-citizens and illegal aliens. Different rules apply.
Visit your local Home Depot early in the morning and see how many contractors stop and pick up day labor which a responsible person would know they are paying them under the table... Your tax comment is fictitious. I doubt that even lawn maintenance illegals are paying taxes.
Four: Entering the country illegally is a criminal offense. California has over 30% illegal aliens in their prison population.
Quote:
While illegal immigrants account for about 3.5 percent of the U.S population, they represented 36.7 percent of federal sentences in FY 2014 following criminal convictions, according to U.S. Sentencing Commission data
Yes they did, they and their parents crossed into the US illegal.....you can spin it anyway you want but the facts are the facts.
Visa over stayers are not the most common way of becoming illegal anyway. There aren't illegal initially they only become so by over staying. Border jumpers are the most common way of illegal entry in the first place.
Those minors who came with their parents become responsible for their own status when they reach the age of 18 1/2. I agree with you crossing our border illegally is a violation of our immigration laws and a misdeamnor crime and if deported and they return it is a felony.
If there was no support for the wall Trump wouldn't have been elected. There is still much support for the wall.

The problem will resolve itself quickly if we start arresting and prosecuting anyone that hires illegals, including suburban housewives that hire cleaning ladies and gardeners. In corporations, the one going to jail would be whoever did the hiring. You can bet the HR Dept. will look more carefully at who is getting hired.
In addition to the above, prosecute anyone who rents a dwelling unit to an illegal and forbid any illegals from attending public schools or receiving public benefits of any kind. They will self-deport rather quickly.
Nope, illegal aliens are not allowed to join our military. Only the DACAs under Obama's EO were they allowed to and there is only about 900 of them that did. Obama defied military standards for enlistment.
Once again, you must be reminded that the draft took anybody/everybody who was living here during World War II.

Not happening. All the wealthy people who publicly complain are the ones who privately hire them. Cost effectiveness "trumps" policy anytime.

Incorrect all around.
Their very presence is a violation of black letter law.

I didn't say it would happen, just that we could quickly get rid of them all if we really wanted to. Neither side really wants to solve the problem.
