Good job, but what about the employer?

So long as nothing is done to those who hire these illegal aliens, we will keep seeing this abuse of the system.

Great start! Now arrest the owners/employers

"but what about the employer?"

What makes you think they are NOT going after employers?

ICE Puts Employers in its Crosshairs

"The Trump administration appeared to take a step toward that goal this month, launching a widely publicized series of raids at close to 100 7-Eleven locations in towns and cities across the country."

"The action was not the first large-scale workplace crackdown by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents under Trump – they previously raided eight Asian restaurants in Mississippi last February, for example, apprehending 55 people suspected of being in the country illegally. But it hit far more locations and was among the most widely publicized. And it also appeared principally aimed at employers."

"
We've already increased the number of inspections in work site operations, you will see that significantly increase this next fiscal year," Homan promised, saying the goal is to remove the "magnet" drawing people to enter the US illegally.

DHS explores ways to transform immigration system without Congress

And he said his agency would approach the task in a way that's "a little different" than in the past, by going just as aggressively after employees.
"Not only are we going to prosecute the employers that hire illegal workers, we're going to detain and remove the illegal alien workers," Homan said."

There have been many cases where the employers were punished for "knowingly" hiring illegal aliens. Until we have e-verify mandated in every work place it is hard to prove since illegal aliens present such authentic looking fake or stolen documents to gain employment.

Plenty of employers knowing hire illegals. Shipley DoNuts in Houston mistreated their warehouse employees so badly, the illegals filed complaints with the EEOC and won. Shipley had to forfeit over 1.5 million in property where the illegals lived onsite.

Many employers hire a subcontractor who is a citizen. He then hires illegals and pays in cash. Then all can say 'OMD,I had no idea they were illegal'

Sure there are employers that "knowingly" hired illegal aliens but again it has to be proven that they did. An employer doesn't always know that a sub contractor hires illegal aliens either. E-verify will help determine if they are and then the employers won't have that excuse nor the sub contractors.

It looks like the meat plant owner was paying the workers cash under the table. Lets expose those who knew they were illegal instead of the workers themselves. Read a dozen articles and neither of them mentioned the management at the plant.

Spencer England... Supervisor
James Brantley.. President & Owner... Per LLC docuements

Jesus said 'You will know them by their fruits'. I'm being a fruit inspector.

Price for the job being done by the contractor is a damn good indicator of the of the wage paid the people doing the work.

The employer can ask for the I 9s for everybody on the job. DH workplace had to hire an extra payroll clerk in order to meet federal rules for TARP hiring. They had to verify citizenship and vouch for every employee on the job.

There are ways to verify SS numbers, etc. It can be done by people who want to hire American and are who not lazy and/or crooked.

Let's do both since the employer and their illegal hires are both breaking the law. There are many cases where the employer was prosecuted for hiring illegal aliens and rightly so and their illegal hires need to be deported. Sounds fair to me.

I'm all for jacking the employers up.. To do that we need laws that require all employers to verify the legal status of their employees. My understanding is that all an employer need do is say they didn't know and they are off the hook. No law requires them to verify.
I would add landlords, schools, and all government agencies required to E-Verify anyone they provide services for and report those who fail.
