The first "illegal immigrants" didn't really inherit much of an infrastructure. No hospitals to have anchor babies in. No social security to put parents on. No welfare net to keep you up when things are down. Pretty much untamed wilderness where life could end many different ways.

Even afterwards when immigration was still easy, it was a hard integration. Melting pot etc. People still did it. They wanted to become American.

Illegals have no incentive to become American. Even when offered amnesty by past administrations it was turned down. America is a home for Americans. It should remain open to people who want to become Americans via legal channels. Illegals can be dumped.

No it was built by Americans, not the useless people coming to suck off our govt and taxpayers. Come in the legal way or get the heck out.

What nation did European colonists emigrate to exactly, I'm unfamiliar with that.

Also, there is no such thing as Native Americans. Humans are not indigenous to the Americas. Full stop.

BTW the first humans to set foot in North America were from Europe. So.....stuff it.

Not only that...the country didn't exist at that point. I'm a Jamestown Settlement descendent. My family had already been here for 169 years when the Declaration of Independence was ratified.

There is nothing unjust about U.S immigration laws.

Illegal immigrants are not victims of anything. They are scammers and con-artists. It is disgusting that you are comparing them to American slaves.

This is going nowhere constructive. Maybe we should have a dedicated "fight thread" where you could flail wildly at each other with strawmen and whatnot, apparently that's one of the more popular hobbies here.
Or you could stop trying to treat a discussion like a war you have to win, give a bit of good faith to the other side, see that the differences are not as deep and fundamental for most of you.
Nah, a fight thread. That would be more fitting, I think
