There is no violation by working as a day laborer. There is no violation if the person is self employed. A street vendor for example. A local mechanic also would violate no law.

Again the violation would be by an employer who knowingly hires an illegal. But the illegal who is hired commits no violation by that act. There can be a violation concerned with the ID used. But that is not due to being hired.

It's a violation to be here, period. A local mechanic is still arrested.

You don't have to "knowingly" know. I've covered this too many times in the past but all the same, if you remove a business employee's the business still suffers.

It is a civil violation that can lead to deportation. But that does not make working a violation. In fact in the normal course of things the mechanic might well be released pending his hearing and go right back to work.

The vast majority of illegal employment would not have any great impact on the employer. I would guess that half the restaurants in town have illegals dish washing and cleaning floors. Take a whole day before they hire a new one. there may well be employers who exploit the illegals who would hurt if they lost them. But that is not the usual.

Even in the Walmart case there were dozens of contractors involved. A small number of the bigger ones got charged. But most of them walked.

Facts not based upon evidence.

According to Pew only 10% of illegals work in production. 32% in services. 16% in construction. 5% in Farm. Few of those jobs are going to be big corporations. So no there is no evidence that big operations are using illegals. I know there will be some big operations involved but in those fields there will be few.

I not going to discuss this with someone that has to constantly twist the argument to fit theirs.

No one said anything about big corporations.

Really? You are mind blowing. So you really think we are going to go out and rigidly enforce employment laws against the local sushi bar and pizza joint? Couple of 100,000 immigration guys covering all the little local joints. And every work crew on every construction site? Boy are the Feds going to be busy...

They did it here. Busted a Mexican restaurant. Confiscated the owners business, house and cars. Problem solved.

But you expect them to pick up 10-30 million one at a time?
