[quote=JackF;51668422]Hmm...so taking manslaughterers, sex offenders and child rapists off the street doesn’t impress you huh?
Your Trump hate is pathetic...Try again.[/QUOTE
The vast majority of manslaughterers, sex offenders and child rapists are US citizens. Exactly how is ICE taking them off the street?
ICE has no charter to remove criminals except as they are violators of the immigration laws. And it is good that ICE givers priority to removing the criminals. But that is not the job of the local police. The courts have clearly held that detainers do not provide a legal basis to hold a person. So do you really want police departments enforcing unconstitutional ICE documents?

ICE doesn't have general law enforcement powers. Ask that question of the state/city police, though. Note, while a crime is a crime is a crime (no matter who commits it . . . indeed, rape isn't any more or less serious because an illegal commits it vs. a citizen), illegals have no right to be in here committing the crime to begin with!

Local Police have no authority to discriminate against anyone over citizenship status.
All the Feds need to do is resolve the huge number of illegal immigrants. Hopefully in a timely and reasonable way. Then the local cops will no longer have to deal with the issue.
And note that when the punishment by the court is served the local police have no further interest in the individual regardless of status./
LOL, I said what I thought. It was nothing like what you asked.
If you have cancer and an ingrown toenail, getting the toenail addressed while ignoring the cancer may give you a brief feeling of being better but you are not.
You have to make up stupid crap because you refuse to address the real problem. We can deport the "vile" and next month they will be back.
An ingrown toenail can be fixed with one visit to a doctor. Cancer takes time. They attack it on multiple fronts. Surgery, radiation, chemo. You only want them to do one thing. We think just doing one thing is not enough.

It takes time but we are NOT addressing it. How many times does this have to be pointed out? The reason people come here for the most part, not completely but for the most part is jobs. Why are we not addressing that by going after those who employ them?
(I ask this over and over and never get a straight reply)
this policy of non-cooperation is certainly getting a lot of illegals sent back who have been here a long time. Trump is interested in focusing on illegal law breakers, this lack of cooperation widens the scope to any illegal.

As to why they're not going after employers --- Have you written to your rep and senators and asked them why? Have you checked their grades on www.betterimmigration.com ?? If not, then why not? Do you still keep voting for the same people who refuse to make E-verify the law of the land, thus mandatory?
You know the answer as to why making it mandatory hasn't happened --- too many swamp creatures on both sides of the aisle are beholden to their mega-rich donors. Those mega-rich donors want to be able to continue hiring cheap, exploitable, illegal labor. As long as those swamp creatures keep being re-elected, then this problem will persist. So...are you going to be part of the problem or part of the solution? In other words, are you going to make it a point to get in touch with your rep and senators on this issue? If they are pro-illegal alien, are you going to do your part to vote the bums out?
Not only does mandatory E-verify need to be the law of the land, it also needs to be used to weed out existing illegals from the workforce.
All this has been explained by many of us before.
If you think that mandatory E-verify will entirely solve the problem of illegal immigration, think again. Not everybody who sneaks across the border or overstays their visa is doing so just to work. Many come here intent on doing harm to others. With this group, mandatory E-verify isn't going to stop them from coming.
That's why we're happy to see that once again ICE is allowed to do their jobs. Any illegal alien---especially the vilest of the vile---that gets removed and deported is a good thing. Illegals have no business being here and need to leave. Period.

The ones blocking compulsory eVerify are not swamp creatures. They are simply the Chambers of Commerce of the USA. They simply oppose making the business owner responsible for the detecting and barring illegal aliens from working. And note they must do so without discriminating against any ethnic or racial group. And all this is vastly complicated as there are no definitive documents settling citizenship that can be demanded by an employer.
The only practical solution to all this is to reduce the illegal alien population to something that can be successfully supervised by the immigration people. And the only practical way to do that is to legalize most of them.
I should NOT have to demand that the ones responsible do their job.
Really?
So, you're okay with whatever your rep and senators do, even though when what they do or don't do is detrimental to the US?
If you don't feel you should have to "demand the ones responsible do their job", then why are you complaining when they don't do it? If you worked with someone who didn't do his/her job, you would demand that s/he either do his/her job or get fired, no? I seriously doubt that you would sit back and allow him/her to do nothing. Yet you refuse to get in touch with your rep and senators and demand that they do their job. Your taxes pay their salary yet you won't demand they do their job?
Wow...just...wow.
