If anyone deserves refugee status, it's the displaced people of Syria, whom I would have no problem with reaching out to help. I am sure their gratitude would be infinite.
I think you are misunderstanding my point Annie. Point is that they are at a wall, they aren't sneaking in, if they are processed then they are not illegal. That's all I was saying. Am I thrilled that this happens every spring? Nope. Displaced people of Syria boat over to Greece because that's their closest point of entry to a semi-safe country.

The sad thing is i'm sure they are going to end up coming into our country. I just think we exhausted all our resources for illegal immigrants. I said it a billion times we have tons of Americans who are struggling and need help we should be helping out our own people before we start taking in other countries problem people. What skills are these people bringing in? Do they speak a lick of english?

Something needs to be work out with the boarder even a faster deporting process.

11 have been arrested for pushing through, 8 have been allowed in. One has already been moved to a felony from previous deportation.

Those arrested aren't going anywhere but back.

No. Syrians boat over to Greece because they want more than what Turkey can give them.

They are benefits-shoppers.

That little boy dead on the beach? His parents were safe and lived just fine in Turkey. He died because the west (Angela Merkel, Sweden) incentivized benefits hoppers like his terrible and irresponsible parents.

Aint it the damned truth.

They want gringo money, without having to worry about obeying gringo laws. They want gringo economic opportunity, without gringo cultural expectations. They want gringo benefits, without having to learn the gringo language.

Arrogance. And I mean, maybe I'd understand it if we were talking about people moving from a superior cultural and economic system who found themselves slumming it in the US for whatever reason (like a war refugee who had to slum it in a poorer country).... but if you could see how "the way things are back home" led to such terrible outcomes..... why on earth do you try to replicate those same conditions in the place you fled to for opportunity?

How would a wall stop this?

These people aren't traipsing through the southwestern desert, they will have crossed at one of the manned crossings like the Bridge of the Americas.

You do know that there are several highways, etc. that link the U.S. directly to Mexico, right?

We should not allow one single person to cross the border without proper paperwork.

A border is a border, no border no country and no laws.

It is illegal to come into our country like this.

We should not pay for their attorneys, medical care, detention, food, housing etc because they illegally came across the border.

Close the border, no one in period.
Actually, it isn't illegal to seek asylum.

"Under the 1951 United Nations Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and the 1967 protocol, and adopted into U.S. law, the U.S. must recognize refugees that fear persecution and are not able to get help from their home country."

What the law says should happen to asylum seekers at the US border - ABC News
