That is the problem. They are shopping. They come to America because they know they will be taken care of but in those other countries they might be looked down on and will be forced to stand on their own 2 feet.

If they stayed in Mexico they would be among people that share the same language, family and religious beliefs.

The Left keeps telling us how racist America is... I don't know why they would be encouraging brown people to come here to be discriminated against and risk their very lives at the hands of racist cops that are just looking to murder a brown or black person.

I get so many mixed messages from the Left that I can't keep up.

Hondurans are fleeing their home because they fear for their safety. Much of the rampant violence and corruption in Honduras is a direct result of US involvement.

The Mexican government offered members of the caravan permission to stay in Mexico and seek humanitarian visas, and about a third of them are taking advantage of this offer.

Much safer than Honduras.

You are correct in your self-assessment. You aren't keeping up. Keep trying. "The Left" is made up of many people with many different ideas.

The scary scenarios you casually dismiss as fiction may well be real. They may go back and be the victims of gang violence or get killed by a drug cartel.
That happens every day here in the US, so coming here isn't seeking asylum.

There is no continuous wall on the border, although there are sections of fence near populated areas and official border crossings. It measures 871 km (541 mi) and runs between north and west Guatemala (the Guatemalan departments of San Marcos, Huehuetenango, El Quiché and El Petén) and the Mexican states of Campeche, Tabasco and Chiapas.

It's pretty obvious that they'd travel here because, despite our horrible president and tons of racists, the opportunities are better and it's generally safer.

Opportunities like welfare, food stamps, public school, working under the table, etc.

And free healthcare provided by US citizen tax dollars, and protection by sanctuary cities if they decide on some crime and violence...what’s not to love if you are a criminal illegal alien?
