As the National Guard troops President Trump deployed take over more and more desk jobs, surveillance, etc., they are freeing up Border Patrol officers to do more actual arrests and blocking of illegal aliens trying to enter the U.S.

Keep up the good work, President Trump.

Border deployment leads to arrest of 1,600 more illegal immigrants

by Anna Giaritelli
May 09, 2018 10:45 AM

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have apprehended an additional 1,600 people attempting to illegally enter the country from Mexico since April 15 as a result of the deployment of National Guard troops to the southwest border, CBP and defense officials said Wednesday.

National Guard officials overseeing the border state deployments said troops helping monitor the international boundary have freed up more border agents to physically guard the border. The result has led to a surge in the amount of criminal activity agents have stopped.

The increased surveillance and communication between guardsmen and border officers also led to CBP intercepting an additional 451 people who were turned back before illegally entering the U.S.

Those numbers could tick up considerably if the 4,000 National Guard troops President Trump approved on April 4 are called on in a future request from CBP.

Not the ones who get stopped by the Wall.

Which will be most of them.

Then the Border Patrol officers will be freed up even more, not having to chase 10,000 more illegal aliens per month. And will be able to concentrate on the relatively few that manage to get in anyway.

A win-win!

Yes, it is a win-win much to the liberals and ethnocentrics dismay.

Can't speak for liberals but glad to see that the extra man power at the border is making a difference.

Not nearly as expensive as a wall...and getting it done.

"Still not even close to the number of immigrants Obama sent bacL"

Still pushing this lie, I see.

Obama COUNTED those turned BACK at the border BEFORE they were allowed to enter as a "deportation", hence FALSELY INCREASING his numbers to make it look like he was "doing something" about the problem.

You have been told this tons of time and as usual being the lefty you are, IGNORE IT and keep repeating the same old B.S.!

Any updates on that beautiful new wall?

Remember when he tweeted this on March 28, 2018?:

"Great briefing this afternoon on the start of our Southern Border WALL!"

... which was misleading, of course:

"Border Patrol officials have said the project that Trump tweeted about is not considered part of his proposed border wall and instead is part of a construction project for a 2-mile border wall in Calexico, Calif., that had already been prioritized since 2009. “We just wanted to get out in front of it and let everybody know that this is a local tactical infrastructure project that was planned for quite some time,” David Kim, assistant chief patrol agent for the Border Patrol’s El Centro sector, told the Desert Sun last month."

Although Trump had asked for $25 billion for wall construction, the bipartisan spending bill provided $1.6 billion, mostly for "fencing," with significant strings attached.

Here’s what that $1.6 billion is for:

$251 million for “secondary fencing” near San Diego.
$445 million for “primary pedestrian levee fencing” in the Rio Grande Valley.
$196 million for “primary pedestrian fencing” in the Rio Grande Valley.
$445 million for replacement of primary pedestrian fencing.
$38 million for border barrier planning and design.
$196 million for border security technology.
