My solution:

Close the border to migrant entry, period. If they want asylum or work visas they have to apply at the American embassy closest to where they live in their own country, submit all proof required there, be fingerprinted or submit DNA for everyone who wants to come including minors, and remain in their own country with their minor kids (if they have any) until they are contacted by the US via mail, one way or the other, on how the US court rules back in the states. An attorney can represent them in court here.

No unaccompanied minors will be permitted to cross the border, period. If their parents are here they all have to go home and apply at the US embassy closest to where they live there and as a family unit. The age for unaccompanied minor classification threshold will be 18.

Mandatory Sentencing

If anyone overstays their visa, 5 years in jail followed by deportation with no chance to ever return to the US.

If they cross the border illegally, automatic 5 years in jail. If they are thrown out of this country and return illegally, automatic 10 years in jail when caught.

Employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens get 3 years in jail.

If they have the proper paperwork to be here and commit a crime, they will be treated the same as any American criminal with the exception that after they complete their sentence, if convicted, they will lose the right to stay here.

The DACA date threshold will be 12/31/17 for whatever the politicians decide to do with DACA people.

All prisons to house illegal aliens who have committed crimes will be built at Guantanamo. Illegal entry only aliens will be separated from violent illegal alien criminals in prison.

---------------------------------------------------

Refugees will all be resettled in the home towns of the politicians on Capitol Hill who advocated for more.

Slight problem.

Illegal immigrants don't follow rules nor laws.

Also, they have rights when they set foot on US soil.

Not if the law is changed.

OP doesn't seem to understand asylum. People seek asylum because they a fearful for their lives in their home country. You can't expect them to stay in their own country while the US processes their application.

But OMG, that would be so easy....?????

The politicians will not do so, b/c they want and need the votes....why do you think they haven't enforced our laws?

It worked before? Oh sure some were able to sneak in, but not nearly to the extent of today?

Lets send all illegals back and start all over again...period....give all that are here, a certain amount of time to apply for citizenship, and if they don't, and they are caught, send them home. Period.

Most are economic migrants. They claim asylum because they've been coached that that's the ticket into the US.

Exactly! Some people will spin (or twist if you will) the truth to suit their agenda.

Is there a reason that they can't seek asylum in any number of countries on their way here? Or seek asylum, by turning themselves in, at a check point like they are supposed to?
You see that whole trying to sneak across the border thing makes me question their motives. Also traveling through countries on their way here and not seeking asylum in any of them. They are gaming the system.

seeking asylum, requires them to do just that, not sneak into the country and later if found, claimed they were seeking asylum. There is a procedure they must follow.

Yes, per USCIS, they enter the country and have one year to declare asylum. Method of entry is not restricted. The problem isn't the applicants. The problem is how long we take to process them.
