If they attacked her because of her color and to intimidate others from expressing an opinion contrary to their own, I would think it is a hate crime. In fact it borders on terrorism.

Default Blacknight

Blacknight,

Do you think what the other kids did, destroying her sign, regardless of what it said, was right?

I don't anyone is saying they should have attacked her.

It wasn't right but that doesn't make it a hate crime or serious enough for the students to be put in jail. My only argument is with people on here saying the kids should be thrown in jail for a hate crime. Btw, i also believe the girl exaggerated her story a little bit in the first place.

Default Still Wrong to Destroy Her Sign

I don't dispute they may have exaggerated the story. I guess we will know when all the facts come out, if they ever do. Still, it was wrong to destroy her sign and certainly even more wrong to attack her.

Usually, I am the one defending illegal immigrants as good hard-working folks. If these guys are citizens, they are giving a bad name to their fellow hispanics, legal and illegal.

legally it does. An assault is a violent physical or verbal attack, threat or attempt to do violence or harm to another person, or a campaign or series of events designed to challange or destoy something.

Battery is added to the legal charges when actual physical contact is made.

So a pushing and shoving match is actually both assault and battery.

It looks like she made the story up. Well if that is the case, SHE needs to be punished for creating this bull-spit and owes a lot of people a major apology starting with the people who she identified as her attackers.

Can you provide a link?

If indeed the girl in question pulled a 'Tawana Brawley' (Google her); I am surprised the 'MSM' media has not jumped all over it.

She identified 21 people in the yearbook as her attackers yet only 3 were suspended.
