I would like to hear from someone who post here who supports the "Undocumented Immigrant" what they think should be done about immigration.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an unlicensed pharmacist.

This has been beat to death. There is nothing we can do when the government and wall street is working hand in hand to drive down wages.

This is really all that needs to be said regarding MOST political issues.

The law disagrees with you and all countries have internationally recognized borders with exclusive rights to the citizens within those borders. This isn't about freedom but respect for a nation's borders and laws. All countries have immigration laws and rightly so to protect their own citizens.

They say we are on track to hit ONE MILLION illegal aliens crossing the border this year and that does not count the Visa over stays. We are in trouble and it is only going to get worse. When will we reach the tipping point? When will the Dems and the Reps admit that we have a real problem that has to be addressed? Will they ever admit that a wall is a good idea?

I wonder if they would consider the border issue a crisis if half the population of the failed state of Venezuela decided that enough was enough and they formed up a caravan of several million people and started marching North?

This crisis is not going to end well. America and it citizens and Legal immigrants will be the losers and when our country collapses into a third world hell hole where can we migrate to .. Canada ?

What can be done today to prevent tragedy tomorrow?
I was once in favor of tightening border security. But I started doubting myself when people in this forum started stumping for the wall by providing unsourced "data" and parroting talking points about how Democrats depend on illegals for votes.

Eventually, I decided that those people are the greatest threat to this country, and I should take their warnings with a few shakers of salt. For example, your previous posts on illegal immigration are short on objective data, and heavy on personal anecdotes and theories, e.g., you watched a bunch of Brazilians destroy your resort community, or you get the feeling that liberals are purposely sabotaging American just to spite their well-meaning leader. It reminds me of this quote attributed to Hermann Göring:

The people don't want war, but they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.

Is this Nazi Germany? No. We're probably a few million Mexican immigrants and a well-timed Muslim terrorist attack from having that discussion. But the basic human psychology is the same. The most vocal wall supporters have a couple things in common:

(1) a ton of pent-up anger, and
(2) a habit of objectifying large groups of people by reducing them to pejorative labels (e.g., "invaders," "leftists," "Dumbocrats").

This culture of fear is straight out of the fascist playbook. Trump knows you're angry, and he feeds that anger by reminding you that everything his opponents say and do is part of an insidious plot to destroy everything you hold dear.

You hate the dangerous "invaders."

You also hate the people who are too stupid and liberal to realize how dangerous the invaders are.

You hate that liberals attack you when you try to show them the gravity of the situation. You've given them official numbers from reputable non-MSM sources. And if those aren't good enough, they can just listen to the Trump-appointed head of Border Patrol, or the Texas rancher who was on Fox & Friends. Liberals can't possibly be that dense; they must be choosing ignorance.

I get it. Trump has given you a voice and someone to rally around, and he helps you rationalize your hatred of those menacing "others" by calling it something else. When you complain about Mexican rapists, or hordes of Brazilians shacking up in small apartments, or black looters, you're not being a racist. You just want to protect the country you love against bad people, and if those people happen to be a different color, that's on them. They should stop being bad and make better life choices.

Besides, the whole racism thing is overblown. It's just something liberals throw out there when they don't have any real counterarguments, because they'd rather divide the country than be proven wrong.

The bottom line is you're right, and anyone who tries to prove you wrong is just an enemy with an agenda. It's you versus them, citizens versus invaders, Republicans versus Democrats, patriots versus obstructionists. And if you don't want a wall, you don't really care about America.

There's no room for nuance in your vision of America, which means you're exactly where the administration wants you. As Göring would say, you are "being attacked," and anyone who doesn't agree that we should act accordingly is unpatriotic and "exposing the country to danger."

Speaking of which, you can disregard this entire post because I have Trump Derangement Syndrome and forgot to take my meds.
