WASHINGTON — Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen will ask Congress for the authority to deport unaccompanied migrant children more quickly, to hold families seeking asylum in detention until their cases are decided and to allow immigrants to apply for asylum from their home countries, according to a copy of the request obtained by NBC News.

Can’t wait to see what Pelosi says. I’m guessing it will involve something about not “punishing children”, and what kind of nation are we to turn away small, weeping children fleeing desperation and danger from war ravaged (fill in the blank).

Now let’s say we should be nice to endangered little children. Wouldn’t we then be enticing children to take a dangerous journey to the border as their only chance of getting into the country? The Democrats and the rest of the lunatics need to proclaim we will allow all minor children into the country from everywhere including safe transportation. Otherwise they are calling for anarchy which endangers children.

Wonder how much it would cost to fly those 400 million or so children? And we haven’t even considered the logistics. Counting healthcare, logistics, education, social services and transportation; about 8 trillion dollars. Trump wants to fulfill a promise costing single digit billions. Comeone Democrats and Koch brothers, backup your own rhetoric and tell us how much it’s gonna cost.

If they're unaccompanied minors why the hell wouldn't we send them home to their parents and home country where they belong?

The parents are here. But their released to some other family friend or more distant relative. The scam is the parents are incognito or in a bomb shelter back home.

So if some how you can get into this country, by default the kids get to come. Itís beyond crisis time. We have a legal immigration system that is a forgone conclusion. What if a 100 million people showed up at the border tomorrow?

These scum capitalists and liberal nut bags need to be confronted. I will not buy the spin, Iím not rich and donít need illegals to survive or own a yacht. Iím not Moses but contribute to many causes. After over 200 years and massive industrialization we are now full. We can help the rest of the world if needed. Lady liberty may be inspiring but sheís no zealot and certainly not stupid.

Climate change is wrecking the planet whether you believe it or not and this country is one of the top contributors. It is asinine to frantically add millions of people to our already large and ultra planet destroying society. 327 million is enough!!!

We need a wall.

Why can't we do what every country in the world does at their borders? If someone shows up without the proper paper work to gain access then they wait until they can be processed BUT they wait outside the country they are trying to get into.

My niece in law got a job offer on the Cayman islands, she and her boyfriend went to visit, she accepted the job and they went back home to Ireland to get ready to move. They flew back to the US but there was a problem with his work permit so he had to wait it out in Miami while she went on to the island. It is all sorted now but the thing is that the Government of the Cayman islands did not allow him into their country until his paper work was in order.

Why can't we do the same thing?

Trump was right, as mean as it sounded when he said "they are not sending their best and brightest".

I don't think America should be a dumping ground for the worlds poor and criminal element.

If their parents are here and I have no doubt that is true but they are here illegally also. Track the children and deport them all.

If the current government policy continues there maybe more than a 100 million at the gates.

The US has reduced emissions by about 13% and predicted to lower even further by 2020 but countries like India and China has increased emissions and will continue to do so without repercussions.
