The vast and increasing majority of children born to illegal parents are US citizens. So they will compete with other US citizens.

Of course it happens. But it is a relatively rare event. The two in recent decades in NV had good though phony docs. Both registered Republican by the way. The third illegal voter caught was actually a Republican committeewoman who was trying to demonstrate how bad the system was.

No one said that there has never, ever been a case of voter fraud. Nothing is ever going to be perfect.

If they’re residing there illegally they don’t have a social security number, so how are they paying state income tax? And sales tax is paid by everybody that purchases something just passing through, from foreigners on vacation to out-of-staters visiting family or on business trips. Sales tax is irrelevant in regards to college tuition subsidies.

Well, except for all the Federal money.

Of course it's not fair even if it can be rationalized in other ways.

Having to establish yourself for a year, an entire your, to be considered a resident for purposes of college, yet you have to do things like get your car tags and driver's license in 30 days, is what bothers me. Either I am a resident or not in all aspects.

I also do not like how easy it is to have a "break" in your residency, and your 20 years of residency no longer matters if you happen to move somewhere, then turn around a year later and move back.

Actually, the truth is that the Democrats are pandering to their ethnocentric citizen base who are demanding amnesty for their illegal amigos and open borders for their ethic group. Of course down the line if these illegals are given a path to citizenship they also will be future Democrat voters. It's all in the plan. It's all about power and votes not what is best for the majority of our citizens and our country.
