I work where I see reality of what is going on at the southern border. It is a crisis! Thousands of illegals are coming with children and being allowed to enter illegally through ports of entry. I believe there were close to 75,000 illegals in one or two months entering the southern border! Under current policy (which must change) illegals are allowed to enter with a child with them. Yes, freely enter the U.S with a pending hearing with an Immigration Judge for themselves and the children too. This is creating a enormous burden on the interior ICE Officers. It can't continue something is going to give...
Even re-entries (reinstatements), which have been deported before, are being allowed to enter through Ports of Entry with children. It's a travesty.
The only people that seem to know what really is going on is President Trump and those others that have visited the southern Border. I can't understand why our political leaders don't see this or want to see this reality. They fight the President when he is only stating the truth and the facts. We do have a crisis and something needs to be done soon. We currently have open borders, sadly. ICE is overwhelmed. The policy on immigration must , must change.
Trump is trying to do something about it but the Dems are blocking it all and the Reps are so wishy washy they couldn't agree on much when they did have both the Senate and the House. I think Paul Ryan and his like were nervous to tackle the illegal immigration problem because like most politicians he was more concerned about his job down the line.
We are losing the country and the Dems are making it happen by refusing to do anything at the border.
I can only imagine that they are taking the Pro illegal immigration stance because Trump is against it and once he is gone they will smarten up and do something. Obama just 5 years ago gave a speech about the problems at the border and other top Dems agreed that we had a problem and something had to be done so what has changed? They refuse to give Trump a perceived win that his supporters can carry to the voting booth. They are doing this without a concern that it is harming America.
I really feel bad for the people that stood in line and paid their dues to immigrate legally when the Dems are embracing the Illegal aliens with such zeal.
Oh well America as we know and love it has had a good run and the Dems have told us that they want to fundamentally change it and this is part of the plan.

The article talked about a BP agent, who was the only agent around for miles, being confronted by a group of illegals who showed up in the middle of the night demanding asylum. I believe the group was about 70 people, with many of them being sick kids. The agent called for backup but none was available. All he could do was give them those silvery blankets and hold them in place until more help could come. It was several hours before he got any help.
Among the group was a guy who had been deported before. IMO, when that fact came to light, he should have been cuffed and jailed, then charged with a felony. Instead, all these people got ankle bracelets, a court date and free transportation to where they were headed. One illegal said he was going to PA where a relative has a job at a pizza joint waiting there for him.
It's despicable when we have libs coming into these forums and mocking the idea of having walls at the border. They claim that the BP can easily handle this. The BP doesn't have the manpower. That doesn't surprise me. I've been telling the story of how our daughter and son-in-law went to a BP hiring fair several years back. The agent they talked to didn't mince words. They were told that if they were hired, they would be on the graveyard shift and be the only agent around for 70 miles. If they needed backup, none would be coming anytime soon.
Something needs to be done. WaPo even had an article that said cops in El Salvador are cutting and running because they claim MS-13 is killing many of them. Meanwhile, our country sent aid to El Salvador to train these cops. Instead of putting that training to good use, they are showing up here demanding asylum.
The Dems don't want to lose the Hispanic citizen vote so that's another reason that they fight border security and want amnesty for those here. Yes, their hatred of Trump and not wanting to give him a victory is another reason.
I'm a Democrat--left of liberal, actually--and I concur that the Democrats are ignoring and being dishonest about a very real and intensifying problem at our southern border. But if we're going to be honest, honesty applies to both sides: Donald Trump is not interested in containing immigration; he's interested in getting re-elected by drumming up racist fear in his base, which is how he got elected the first time--Southern Strategy all the way, on all pistons. On every level, Trump is a massive failure as a President and a profound danger and embarrassment to this nation. Just because he's right (for the wrong reasons) about the border emergency is no reason to ignore the fact that he has a long, shady past, has treated people abominably, cheated people, lied on a daily basis, and probably broken American law (we shall see about the last).

There is no honesty in claiming that Trump isn't interested in securing our southern border and you have no proof of that whatsoever. What racist fear? The issue of illegal immigration is not race based at all. These are just the usual Trump smearing, race card pulling unwarranted remarks by the left.

What's racist about the truth? He said that there are rapists and criminals coming through our southern border but some are good people and that's just a fact. Illegal alien isn't a race anyway it's an unlawful presence in our country.
