Santa Cruz County officials were searching the hills west of Nogales Friday morning and located the body of 21-year-old Mayra Pacheco-Arevalos of Mexico.
Mayra's mother told authorities her daughter had died in her arms Tuesday night. According to the mother, her daughter became sick and their guide left the two women in the rugged country alone.

Sorry to say but this is common place anymore. If they cannot keep up they are left behind. She probably died in American Nogales. if she were in Rio Rico she was on the American side.

You are acting surprised at this, men, women and children die every year in the desert and few give two hoots about it, in fact it has been posted before that some people are happy about it, you know the old one less we have to worry about thinking. I don't think I know one of our citizens that would risk their life, to take care of their family.

Over 600 and who knows how many die on the Mexican side -- and that is the shame of Mexico and it's elites.
Mexico is not a poor country, it's one of the richest nations in the world.

The country may be rich, but the people are not. If they were rich do you think they would want to come here? Ask people that are citizens here and the really poor of our country, if they could move to another country and have a better life if they would do it.
I did meet a man in Nogales last summer that lost his 6 year old daughter to pneumonia just a couple of days before, he did not break any laws to come to AMERICA he was still in his country trying to make things better for his own people.
The country may be rich, but the people are not. If they were rich do you think they would want to come here? Ask people that are citizens here and the really poor of our country, if they could move to another country and have a better life if they would do it.

Then why aren't the Mexicans here going down to Mexico City to do their big May Day protests?
The Mexican nationalists protesting here and having temper tantrums about not being handed easy citizenship as a reward for breaking our laws are certainly not doing a damned thing to fix their own country.
Where are the Mexican Martin Luther Kings? Why is the only answer to everything just to break USA laws and expect that they have some racial right to do so?
Do you really believe we can take in the entire impoverished population of the world because the people of other nations are not motivated to improve their countries?
Don't Mexicans actually have democracy and elections? They can't even improve things at the ballot boxes?

Also I don't buy that excuse because believe it or not -- there are doctors and pharmacies and hospitals in Mexico. Mexico has nationalized health care. It's not completely free because people are expected to pay what they can afford, a sliding scale that depends on their income.
And it is not the responsibility of Americans to provide the entire country of Mexico all it's free medical care. If Mexicans don't like their health care system, then it's time for them to make improvements. Whether they would decide to revamp their nationalized health care plans, increase the taxes they pay -- whatever they decide. American taxpayers cannot be expected to provide for our own health care and all the health care of another nation.
