I bet you Repubs that it is your party members that do most of the hiring of these illegals.
Democrats just want to see they are treated fairly while Republicans make $ off them .

I was a registered Republican until Bush became President in 2000, now I am Indie.

I don't vote. However, neither of the two major parties intend to end immigration...and both want to give illegals amnesty.

I beg to differ. Anyone who supports a return to America's pre-1965 National Origins Quota System is much farther to "right" than the vast majority of card-carrying Republicans.

OUCH!

I was just referred to as a right winger!

(although as of late, my sympathies towards todays liberals have declined dramatically)

[moderator cut: off topic]

Republicans aren't the only ones profiting off these people. Democrats are just as corrupt in their reasons for supporting illegals. They do it solely for the votes that they would gain, NOT because they care about illegals or fell they are representing their party (because they ARENT representing their party very well).

If it makes you feel any better, I consider our modern labels of "left" and "right" to be almost entirely divorced from their original meanings. American political ignorance is highlighted by the fact that we still this old language to describe what we have become.

In the jargon of political science, the American Right (i.e. "conservatives") are classical liberals while the American Left are social Democrats who are primarily preoccupied with certain ideas about social justice. It is Orwellian to even call the American Right "conservative" and the American Left "liberal", because they are anything but these things.

Prior to FDR: the Republicans and Democrats also played 'opposite roles'.

Certainly the Democrats have changed a great deal over the past century but the Republicans have been pretty consistent in their apologia for big business and unfettered capitalism.

Some things have changed but others have remained the same...

I think its funny. The deep south ALWAYS went to the Democrats and the Republicans always got the Northeast. Time has inversed itself.

IMO, the two parties (as they now stand) are nearly identical on almost all of the major issues of the day. Their dimension of political congruence has been obscured by the fact that those who votes for the GOP are culturally quite different from those who vote Democrat.
