In my mornings paper was a large aticle written about the raid in Portsville IA. As it turns out, the raid was instigated NOT by the suspicious surge in Latinos in the midwest as some had supposed, but rather on information that came from 'whistleblowers' working inside the plant. The situation inside the packing plant was abyssmal....the illegal aliens were being paid five dollars an hour. Thats right, five bucks an hour for hard and dangerous work. Are there any pro illegal apologists out there that still wonder why Americans won't do these jobs? That still labor under the delusion that Americans are fat and lazy and think they are too good to do manual labor? And just how in hell can anyone make a living on $5 an hour?
But it gets better ----- the packing plant was underreporting accidents at the plant. See, what that means is that the owners of the plant were not practicing safety standards set in place by OSHA thus putting illegals in danger ---- packing houses are very dangerous places to work you know.
And --- here is the kicker --- some of those illegals whose only crime was being born on the wrong side of the border were running a meth lab on the premises.

Does anyone still think that illegals benefited this town, its economy and its crime rate? Anyone at all?

Yeah, all of that was initially in the Des Moines Register when the raid first happened, but it seems like they stopped mentioning the employer's faults immediately afterwards.

Yesterday there was a big photograph of some poor little Latino girl and the a story about how her dad was getting deported to Guatemala and her mother to Mexico or vise-versa. This far after the raid they're STILL trying to gain sympathy. I'm not a conspiracy theory nut or anything, but I think someone's pulling some serious strings to make this into the ICE being the bad guys and not the employers.

Have ANY of these employers been arrested, or have they all gotten away with it?
