So by allowing undocumented workers to get trained and evaluated to get a proper drivers license, carry insurance, that would make this problem worse?

It definitely sends a green light for other illegals to come here, but if everyone had proper training of our laws, a license and insurance including illegals, wouldn't that be a good thing?

Right now those millions of people don't have the option or path to become a legal driver...

Many missed the point of allowing illegals to obtain a drivers license, it was to get those people to come out of the shadows and for us to face reality that they are driving amongst us.

Many States are waking up to the Illegal Immigration issue and the problems resulting from same.

Phoenix has recently changed their procedures after 3 Phoenix Police Officers were shot and killed by Illegal Immigrants. Now, Phoenix PD can inquire as to someones immigration status and, if necessary, take a person to ICE for processing and deportation.

More and more law enforcement agencies all over the country are doing the same -

I'm just sorry that it took the death of two innocent children to wake up the Hampton Roads community!

That is NOT "earned" citizenship; it is "bought" citizenship. I’m sure there are thousands of U.S. citizens incarcerated for nonviolent crimes, such as fraud and identity theft, who would love to be given the option of simply “paying a fine” to be absolved of their crimes.

BTW, which of the myriad aliases should our government accept for these criminal background checks?

They have something called ITIN'S given to them by the IRS for them to file taxes with. Obviously getting paid under the table doesn't require any social security number.

What makes you believe they would actually abide by our motor vehicle laws, given their total disdain for our laws in general?

Some may have Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers, but they are the exception rather than the rule. That involves too much interaction with a government illegal workers do not trust. More often, illegal workers are either paid in cash or they are working off of a stolen Social Security number.

Well if you give someone a chance maybe they will do it right, they aren't wild animals. Is what we have right now working? Keeping them in the shadows?

Maybe we should use the approach we use overseas and bribe illegals to abide by the laws.

People living “in the shadows” don’t brazenly march in our streets making demands; hang around Home Depot; drive recklessly, and/or under the influence of mind altering substances; enroll their kids in our schools; shop in our stores with welfare cards; etc., etc. Their “shadows” are smaller than Punxsutawney Phil’s on Groundhog Day.

Bribery? That's your response to my question? Criminal behavior to reward criminal behavior.

GREAT POINT, Benicar . . .

Their BLATANT ARROGANCE and DISRESPECT for our laws has been proven time and time again directly back to when they entered this country. It is ridiculous and "fantasy thinking" that anyone would expect otherwise from them?

Yes he is right, it should not have happened, but our laws were lax and have been for quite some time and now it is too late for his daughter.

If it were a legal white, black or asian drunk driver his daughter would still be dead.
BTW: illegal is illegal--------the cold reality is that most of the above happen to have Spanish surnames.

As you and I know: 'Hispanic' is a political label only.
