Not lately however. Two good border agents were thrown in prison, while a Mexican drug trafficker was given immunity and a free pass.

Mexican cartel wars coming north
2:55 PM Thu, Jul 03, 2008

An astonishing report from Stratfor.com about paramilitary Mexican drug cartel operations inside the US. Excerpt:

The vast majority of police officers and federal agents in the United States simply are not prepared or equipped to deal with a highly trained fire team using insurgent tactics. That is a task suited more for the U.S. military forces currently deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan...

If America has the power to take over Iraq in one day... how hard can it be to declare war on Mexico's drug cartel and wipe them out...

I get emails from Glenn Beck and he recently sent out some pictures of what is going on in Mexico with the drug wars. I clicked on these gruesome pics of where they stuff the bodies after they have tortured. And also a picture of 5 men's severed heads that had been thrown on the dance floor of a discoteca (hope I spelled that right) in Mexico to keep everyone in check by using these scare tactics. They were awful, I have never seen anything like that in my life. To allow these people to do that is beyond me. That government needs a good ass kickin'.

I agree but; be careful what you wish for-----you may get it.

Why I say that is if Mexico were to explode into a full on civil war-----we (the USA) may be inudated by possibly millions of frightened, injured Mexican nationals fleeing the Zetas, etc. Note I am in particular referring to middle class people who would otherwise never dream of sneaking across the border via coyote.

And; we may be stuck with at least Nuevo Leon, Mx if it breaks away from Mexico.

Instead of spending all these BILLIONS of dollars on Iraq, where nothing is being done, why can't we be giving some of that to Mexico and try to help them out?

Better yet:

What is stopping Mexico from taxing the hell out of its ultra rich folks so the 'little man' can have a (slightly) bigger piece of the pie?

Mexico is not poor: its per capita income is well over $12K a year-----and growing.
