MEChA should not be banned...like the KKK, it should be allowed to freely "fume" and make its "case". Hopefully, its outrageous agenda, when the general public hears it, will turn MOST people against it. That's how it works, in a free society.

Banning these groups gives their grubby little 'tantrums' a 'romance' and a legitimacy they don't deserve. Let MEChA speak....let's ALL listen. Perhaps they'll answer a few questions. If they DO, fine. If they refuse to answer questions, then that in itself IS an answer.

Either way, if MEChA makes sense, we OUGHT to hear from it. If it's 'silly', we ought to learn that, too. This is America, and that's free speech.

As macmeal stated; word for word.

Besides: for security reasons, if MEChA, KKK, etc. were banned-------they would simply go underground and be much harder to monitor.

Banned-no. However the KKK and every other hate group deserves the same amount of freedom of speech as these haters. Hate is Hate. It is disgusting and vile. Freedom of speech does not mean that I have to like what they say. However absolutely NO tax payer $$ should be going to these groups. Unfortunately these groups-like LaRaza do receive millions in federal funds.

Could you imagine the outrage if the KKK received federal funding? It is ok for a group that calls themselves "The Race" and is vile as well to receive my tax dollars however.

I curious to find out how many average americans know about MECHa.
Surely, those living outside the southwest don't have a clue.
These groups keep a low profile while giving us their venom.

I live outside of the SW and I know about MECHa and their agenda. However- I still do not think they should be banned. However they should immediately stop receiving tax payer dollars that currently fund their Aztlan school among other things. No tax payer $$ should go to these anti-American hate mongering groups and the schools that they run. I also have no problem with them being investigated if their "taking back the southwest" goes beyond speech. Other anti-American groups are investigated and if it goes anything beyond just speech they should be too. Since this group's goal is to dismantle the US, they need to be closely watched and it should be acted on accordingly. However, like it or not, they are protected by free speech.

agree, and what makes MECHa especially dangerous is that not only are they racist like the KKK but take it a step further as you state and want to dismantle our country. Their #'s are rising their propaganda is spreading wonder if anybody in our government is watching them

"Banned"? Probably not.

Should tax payers pay for their appearances at colleges and universities?

No.

Ditto for me. Any group that advocates against the US should not be getting a red cent from the US. They should not be allowed to propagate their hate speech on campuses either.
