It doesn't matter whether they respect the country or not...either way, the US cannot afford to support a mass influx. They drain the system without putting any money back into it.
I have nothing against hispanics, but the immigration rates are out of control. It's causing a lot of problems.
Legal immigration (and illegal immigration), must be cut down significantly (I don't want this country to have 1 billion people in it-it's not economically or enviornmentally wise, we have water scarcity already in the southwest).
That being said, I don't think you have to worry about hispanics taking over. Many legal immigrants are loyal to this country and help it economically. I think most countries are beginning to wake up and realize that immigration must be slowed down due to the global crisises facing the earth.
Most American ancesters were all illegal, "they" just made laws to make themselves legal. Race tension is throughout history. I'm sure the government could stop them it they wanted, but somebody is probably getting a kick-back so let whatever happen happen
That is no reason to allow hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to break our current immigration laws.
This is so stupid. People like this really are ignorant. First of all, not all Hispanics are Mexican. Take Miami for example, it's hard to find a Mexican. Secondly, most Hispanics are hard-working people and come here for a better living, not to "not integrate" bull crap.
Hispanics are a huge part of our economy too, I think a lot of people forget that and just think of Mexican immigrants when they think Hispanic. Plus, the culture changes from country to country. Mexicans are very different from Argentineans, or Chileans to Cubans, etc. It's a huge continent, with a lot of diversity, it's not just Mexico.
Joke if you will but I heard years ago that this country is due to be 50% hispanic by 2010 or soon thereafter. Why do you think they're so lax on the 'immigration laws'? And the ushering in of NAFTA...

Maybe in sheer numbers, but as long as they reject integration/assimilation, they will always be confined to the realms of blue-collar in America ...at least in Los Angeles.
I cant believe some people here dont take this seriously they are a threat to natioal security. I live in southern california so I know whats going on. They dont respect this country and what it stands for. Thousands of americans die yearly as a result of illegal immigrants not just here but in there countries too. 80% of children born in this country are immigrant children. To actually debate if the border should stay open or not is so stupid. I have posted about this before see "Lets hear it for sheriff joe" thread in phoenix forum and see for yourself.
