Not knowing much about Raleigh, the article isn't clear in its implications....is Raleigh a particularly "illegal-friendly" place? Do they just dislike Minutemen? Or are Raleigh residents just not inclined to gather in crowds? What sort of event in Raleigh would draw a LARGE crowd?......

Raleigh is a tiny place... its like a small college town... most of the people there are young and don't really care much for politics... I don't think there would be much gathering in Raleigh unless it is a Keg Party! I think he is just trying to blow smoke... to distract the real issue that illegal immigration is a problem for the U.S. and not just N.C.... its like saying, look at Hawaii, nobody cares there about illegal immigration... why would they?

Out of everyone I know who has anti-illegal views, not a single one of them is a member of the Minuteman group. If the local Minuteman group were to hold a rally here, I'm sure no one would know unless they were members and/or on their mailing list. Just because two dozen people showed up doesn't mean that's all that's out there.

You also have to look at the source... I know the paper here in Des Moines is very pro-illegal and during the Postville thing slanted stories to make it look like everyone in the area was so sad to see the illegals go. The writing of that article looks like it is delibrately trying to discredit the Minutemen.

No, our policy of securing our (as in the sovereign United States) borders is the joke.

The punchline is on the citizens.
