Do you support his stance? Why is he (and the administration) doing what they are doing? Is it good or bad? Thanks for all replies!.

Not much--yet. But today for the first time I saw a short piece on the changing complexion in California (I think it was CNN but I pulled it up on yahoo news).

It addressed the severe problems between African Americans and Hispanic populations and focused on the hate crime of a young girl, and the way the Blacks feel about the change (for the negative)--losing jobs, homes, communities, the big and small picture.

It didn't take overall immigration into account, but it's a step in having the issues more widely known and talked about.

Frankly, the change of face has been recognized for several years--but as this little snippet on the news showed, it was slow and steady and folks didn't really get a handle on it (nor did the government).

This link is to a table which shows employer investigation efforts of the immigration authorities.
To be fair to *honest* employers, there is lag time of as much as a year (but usually more like two months) for notification of mismatch between name and Social Security Number. Obviously there is an abundance of fake numbers/names.
However, it is obvious that for years and years many employers have happily taken on illegal immigrants without any repercussions at all. In terms of migrant workers who do agricultural work, I don't know what the answer is. How many American workers want to do this type of job?

Write your local congressmen to change the laws of illegal immigration in your area. Begin an organization devoted to changing immigration laws or start a voting drive. There is much you can do than worry about what the president is doing. George Bush is powerless, ecspecially with even power in Congress for his last two years. More people should be devoted to ridding themselves of spite and slanderous talk towards illegal immigrants, who cannot defend themselves of these horrendous generalizatons and stereotypes.

Those things have already been done, it is already hard enough to even get the government to listen to us!
