Youre pretty much not allowed to protect yourself unless theyre coming at you with a deadly weapon, you have NO chance to run away, are backed into a corner, AND it looks bad if you empty the clip.

With that said, putting a bullet in someone coming through your window in the dark, even if he has a weapon, can get you behind bars. You pretty much have to ask the guy if he's planning on killing you.

But still, if both the robbers were shot in the back, that sounds pretty shady. That and if it was on the lawn. Sounds like he caught a couple of Mexicans getting done burglarizing a home and put them both down.
Hopefully the fact they were illegal doesn't affect the actual case and a thorough investigation is done to see what really went down, and the authorities act accordingly.
Just because I know if I pulled something like that with the way the situation looks, thered be a good chance I'd be on the next bus to Folsom or something.

I wonder if a person himself could be a "deadly weapon" - that is, for example, a guy like Arnold Swartzenagger against a petite 100-pound woman? Since this person could kill you, can you kill them with a gun first? Or, do they have to say, "I'm going to kill you with my bare hands"?

this thread was already in the politics section and while im done with this topic i will say this

they were shot in the back, they were not on his property, this was not self defense

since when is thievery cause for execution.

do we really need cops and judges and jurys if one individual can make the decision that a crime is committed, the suspects have been aprehended, and the punishment handed out?

sounds like vigilantism to me

This topic isn't really an immigration issue - it is a self-defense issue. With that said, until the intruders surrender or are physically off the property/out of the house, they're fair game. I'm not worried about the suspects' rights, especially since the burglars did not seem to be worried about anyone else's rights.

If you have illegal aliens roaming your community stealing things and shooting guns (mostly into the air but who knows) then you might tend to do things to protect yourself that others might not understand.

2 men breaking into a house.
2 men with no respect for others property
2 men who when confronted got what criminals have coming.
As criminals they made a choice. They chose to ignore the law, to ignore other peoples rights. They also chose to accept that anything bad can happen to someone who makes these kinds of choices. They paid for it with their lives.
I weep no tears for such as them.

First they broke into our country... And people wonder why they don't worry about other laws...
I think the guy should be reimbursed for his shotgun shells or at least write them off on taxes...

A Criminal is a Criminal...

I think you have a valid point. Who knows how many people suffered from these 2 law breakers. Or how many had yet to suffer? They got what all criminals deserve death based on the life they lived. Irony at its best.
