Seems like I've been making predictions to this effect for some time now. Did I tell you the REST of how it goes?

(1) People who are SUPPOSED to control things (Government, Border Patrol, ICE, etc) do NOT...(because they either can't..or have been ordered not to)...

(2) The obvious lack of enforcement angers the public...this brings both the 'vigilantes' (Minutemen, etc) 'out of the woodwork'...and when THEY can't do anything either, more sinister types step into the vacuum...(like the OP's story)...

(3) Government then expresses dismay at how 'things have gotten out of control', then offers its solution...tighter surveillance of ALL of us, erosion of personal liberties, etc.

(4) Loss of freedoms for the general public causes even MORE anger, blame, and discontent in the future.

(5) Escalating anger and a sense of worsening lives, causes different groups to begin blaming each other, seeing them as 'the cause of all this'..(There's a simple word for this, but I've quit using it)....

I find no pleasure in these predictions. As the spouse of someone who looks pretty much the textbook 'stereotype' of an illegal immigrant, I have every reason to hope this never comes true. Yet history repeats itself, and those who "Don't Learn from the Past"...etc etc etc.

I'm giving this prediction ONLY as an academic excercise. I've quit using the 'balkanizing' term, since most people apparently don't understand what it means. But it's pretty clear to me.

Is this a SURPRISING story? I don't believe it is. Take a once-vital industrial 'powerhouse' such as Pennsylvania is. Once the 'envy of America' for its enormous industrial output, the place is now full of abandoned industries, defunct rail lines, and tapped-out coal mines. People the place with an extremely diverse population of largely-unemployed blue-collar types, many of them feeling a sense of betrayal. NOW...bring in a NEW group, and set them to work doing some of the few jobs still left....at cut-rate wages. I think the stage has pretty well been set for some anger here...whether it's rational or not.

How "big" is this story? Probably not very. How many people are murdered each week in Pennsylvania? I have no idea. My only interest in this is to point out its predictability, the things that led up to it, and the ominous trends it illustrates for the future....AND, if it continues to escalate, the frightening way in which our government will undoubtedly deal with it....(for "our OWN safety")...

Yet our Stupids in Congress refuse to 'take their medicine'------bitter as it may be.

Cynical bastard I am here: more and more; it will be the so-called 'Yuppies'* who would be crushed when their 'undocumented' hired help (nannies, etc) are deported and one of the spouses will have to quit its job 'forcing' said family back down to the real world.

*when I use the word 'Yuppie'; I am more referring to the '$30K millionaire' variety-------not those folks who invested their money wisely and drive a late model $25K Honda Accord (which is paid off) vs. a $60K Mercedes Benz which is in the shop half the time, etc.

No problem that it's the wrong thread.

I was born in a small town near Pittsburgh, and still have many family and friends living there. Therefore, I can certainly attest to the desolation of that area. I leave depressed each time I visit. People are indeed desperate; which is precisely why this illegal invasion is so volatile.

I don't think you guys are realistic. You seem to have fallen for that believe that the USA can be made into some immigrant utopia, where all the impoverished people of the entire world can come and live happily ever ever, Americans will just step out of their jobs and turn them over, Americans will live looking for their food in dumpsters so that illegals can have a great life here.

Do you open borders advocates truly believe that giving the corporations unlimited cheap labor, with taxpayers making up the gap between wages and living costs would have no consequence at all? That monthly remittances being sent out of the country could grow indefinitely, to any level and there would be no consequence to local economies?

Great post, however, you fail to take into consideration 2 very important facts:

1. They don't give a damn about anybody but their raza;

2. These are not intelligent, rational, law abiding human beings that we are dealing with.
