For reals though, MANY of the people marching aren't even illegal. Do you imagine how much of a mess it would be to do a massive detainment of all those marching? Then you'd have to determine the citizenship of each one arrested. And of course there'd be a few who were actually American citizens or legal residents that would get deported. Then you'd have some lawsuits. People would get angry by aggressive police presence. Cars start getting flipped over. Crowd gets hostile. A scared cop lets off a round on accident. A couple other cops think something is going on and start firing too. People panic. Mayhem ensues.

Orrrrr, you could just let them march and protest, as long as it stays peaceful.
It could be much simpler than all that. Police could simply rotate through the crowd checking ID. Simply let it be known that any person not displaying a proper form of US ID will be detained. While the US has no law "requiring" its citizens to carry ID, the police do reserve the right to detain such persons whom they believe may have committed a criminal act. And seeing as how at least some of these marchers are certainly illegal, and the others marching are obviously attempting to aid criminals, they are all putting themselves at risk of being detained until proper identification can be provided. And besides that, what grounds do the "illegals" have to protest upon. The simple fact is they are finally starting to have to reap what they have sown. They have been coming here for years and years unlawfully and they know what they are doing is against the law. They absolutely have no leg to stand on when it comes to the issue of deporting illegal aliens. I am sorry, but there is a process that you are supposed to follow and if you don't there have to be consequences. If I break the law, I certainly have to face the consequences. Why is it some people seem to think the illegals should have it any different. If real sovereign citizens of this country have to obey the laws, I should expect it would go double for anyone found to be living here illegally.

I think you're wrong about there not being a law requiring citizens to carry ID. Each state has it's own laws about requiring citizens to carry ID,otherwise law enforcement officials could not detain you to find out who you are I'm from North Carolina in Wingate and i know it's the law there that you must carry ID,how else am i to prove i'm old enough to buy Liquor

And that identification alone doesn´t show their citizenship status...

I guess it is fine to recycle an old thread, but people are almost expecting someone to make a response back after three years...

Florida does.

As a matter of fact, if you carry a concealed weapon you need to carry on of those IDs.

In my county, if you coach youth athletics you need an ID for that too. All three have pictures
and two need background checks and finger prints

Well I think they would tell you that Mexicans once ruled over Hawaii and so they have a right to break the laws to get there. You know -- the USA stole Hawaii from them.
