He was trying to cross the broder with drugs and ran from broder control.

I am just saying that why did not his mother call her friend in el paso and say" next time he will stay home!!"
He was not and is not a victim, he broke the law everyone keeps forgetting about that part, next time he tries to cross that broder he may think about it a little harder.

I understand that but why do we send our own guys to jail and give this piece of dope dealer a slap on the hand? there is something wrong here when someone can just cross the broder with drugs and run from the cops and by the end of the day the cop is in trouble.

Oh I agree.. but I don't think we should of jailed him here and given him a free ride in our system.. rather we could of sent him to a far off worse country than Mexico, and said good luck. Why do we deport to country of origin, why not deport to another country.. one far away, one that is war torn... like the middle east.. thats an idea, take the illegals and make them peace keepers in the middle east.. bring our soldiers home and use them instead.. there is what 30 million plus illegals in this country.. thats a lot of peace keepers. I say we use this guy as the first one.

That would be nice but it is not going to happen so all we can do is enforce our own laws and close our broders.

But think about it Southern.. All the building and infrastructure we can build in the middle east with 30 million illegal workers.. not to mention the crops grown, and the grounds well kept.. they would have a job, and be out of our hair... its a win win for all involved.

10 and 11 years? That's more time than most MURDERERS get! This was nothing more than the Bush Administration sending a message to the BP that said plainly, "We don't want you to do your jobs, let 'em ALL in!"

Yeah, the punishment does not fit the crime. You see DRUG DEALERS getting less time. As I recall, and someone else might remember, Johnny Sutton used some sort of law that was particularly used to get them more time - an extra 10 years. Otherwise, it would have been 1-2 years.

In other words, it was not necessary to do that. Can anyone remember what that was?

It was the law that states anyone committing any felony with a gun gets an automatic 10 years.

And, why was this a felony? They are allowed to shoot at illegal drug dealers who run away, yes?
