American citizens die in custody ALL the time, yet I don't see any US Senators sponsoring bills on THEIR behalf.
Nor does this concern Sen. Menedez in any way. He is not lobbying for appropriate care for anyone in custody, only for illegal aliens. Why doesn't this surprise me?

You took the words out of my mouth. Moreover, the last time I checked, incarceration isn't supposed to be like a stay at the Ritz. I believe in humane treatment. However, if they didn't commit crimes, they wouldn't be in jail.
