14-year-old girl arrested carrying 45 pounds of marijuana, Dallas police say | Dallas Morning News | News for Dallas, Texas | Latest News (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/080208dnmetgirlarrested.5b34ab2.html - broken link)
"The drug smuggler arrived on a bus from Laredo lugging three suitcases filled with 45 pounds of marijuana, Dallas police say.
It was a significant amount for officers to intercept — worth more than $50,000 on the street — but police say the bust was unusual for another reason.
The girl had taken a bus south, picked up the drugs, and returned, Chief Bernal said. She knew she was involved in a drug operation, and may even have planned to distribute the marijuana herself, he said.
“It appears that there were several people involved, and that’s what we’re looking into, is who played what role,” he said.
The girl has a history of behavioral problems, the chief said. She was taken to a juvenile detention center after her arrest. The mother said that as far as she knew, her daughter had no friends or acquaintances in Laredo. The girl was released by authorities Friday, her mother said.

How does this story have to do with immigration?
It would have nothing to do with immigration. That is unless she is an immigrant legal or illegal. The article doesn't say she is an immigrant nor her mother.
Black knight is correct this is not an immigration issue.

Had to rep you for keeping it fair like always, tinman
Its no secret what my stand on illegals is AMC, but fair is fair.
The weed may have come from mexico but that in itself only makes it a drug issue not an immigration issue. Had it been found on someone sneaking accross the border that would have changed my opinion. Thanks for the rep.
Well unless somebody grew the marijuana in Laredo (ever tried to grow anything there?) it's pretty obvious where it came from..Nuevo Laredo, the epicenter of the drug war between drug lords, gangs and the police and Mexican military. I believe that is the town where killings of journalists have silenced the press.
Does anyone else feeling like you've been taking crazy pills after reading these news stories that go on and on and on....It's just never ending.
Three years ago you had to dig for these stories, now? They are everywhere. With the collapsing of the economy, the multitude of murders and other crimes being committed by illegal aliens and Senor Boosh getting ready to leave office, the hammer is falling hard and fast. The economy has all but totally collapsed, business is slow, the housing bubble has burst and corporate America is ready to free their slaves by any means necessary.

It is strange huh? It makes me wonder if illegals left would there be any crime at all....
