Default Are Fake Letters Sent To Illegals A Hate Crime?

A Colorado immigration attorney says that official looking, fake letters sent out to illegal aliens demanding that they turn themselves in is bordering on a “hate crime.” Although the attorney conceded the letters targeted only illegals, he told 9 News that only the federal government had the right to enforce immigration laws — not citizens!

Well just being for enforcing the laws these days makes you a racist so I guess this makes "perfect sense" in the pro-illegal world.

Faking letters does nothing to help the cause to oppose illegal immigration. It's crass, and borders on spite. There's a mocking vengefulness that reflects poorly on the movement. And, it's unnecessary. Why not be honest about who we are and deliver the letters that way? Why perpetuate a fraud by representing oneself to be someone he's not?

There are already complaints, unwarranted imo, that the system is to complex and complicated for good aspirants to seek and succeed in immigration. This feeds that misperception, and arms illegals in their fight against the institution that all citizens should defend.

I also would like to know where these letters came from. While of course they could have come from people who are against the illegal alien invasion that is not the only possibility. What about pro-illegal groups doing this to get sympathy for their side by trying to show that all those who want the illegals to go home are "mean and nasty". That would not surprise me either.

It has not yet been determined as to who sent these letters.

I agree with Kabluey and also with nicolem. First off, it's wrong to misrepresent yourself as a law enforcement official in any capacity. Second, who knows who is sending these letters?

Sounds like a few of those who oppose illegal immigration believe they are exempt from the law themselves?

Or do two wrongs make a right?
