It's BAAAACK:

Official: Chávez renaming plan targets Young Street | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | Latest News (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/062409dnmetchavez.40d85dc.html - broken link)

Now they want to change the name of a historic street because it runs in front of city hall.

I am against renaming a street that already has historical meaning as Ross St does for Dallas. Maybe they would do well to name a street for a prominent Mexican-American who was actually a Texan. Dr Hector P Garcia comes to mind.

No one ever heard of him. Chavez is well-known. He's actually well-known for protesting the open border and the bringing in of illegals to keep wages and benefits way down and his group helped stop the Bracero program.

It's okay by me if they name something after Chavez because he's a good symbolic figure in these times of greed for cheap labor and abuse of the American worker.
