Hispanic aldermen are demanding to know why 59 Chicago motorists with Latino surnames have been arrested for traffic violations and other misdemeanors recently only to land in jail because somebody tipped Immigration and Customs Enforcement in violation of the city's "sanctuary" ordinance.
"We will not tolerate this in Chicago. ... We want to know where it's coming from and who is filing these reports," said Ald. Billy Ocasio (26th), chairman of the City Council's Human Relations Committee.
At a City Council hearing Tuesday, Ald. Danny Solis (25th) was visibly moved by the testimony of a woman with two young children whose husband has been in jail for over five months.
"It all started because he didn't have a driver's license, which shouldn't have been an arrest to send him to the County Jail" in the first place, Solis said.

The anchor babies own Chicago and have essentially made dumb Dickie Daley their lap dog. Those of their raza may be special protected group of criminals under Chicago laws but the Federal Government dictates immigration policy for this country not them.

In other words, they will not tolerate the enforcement of our laws. This man should be fired.
Does anybody remember my predicting the Feds will wind up overriding state and local ordinances in the growing battle against illegal immigration? If I were Chicago; I would shut the hell up----------or, really risk having the US District Attorney come down on Daley and his lackeys.
Much like the Civil Rights movement of two generations back.

Latino surnames?! I wonder where these aldermen are when illegals with asian, european, or african surnames are detained?
To me: driving without a valid license should be a jailable offense.

Ha .. didn't you get the memo? Chicago is a sanctuary for those special people who are blessed with the support of LaRaza and the latino anchor babies in office.
Let's see - you or I would probably not want to take the chance of driving without a license or insurance, much less being in a country illegally.
Wouldn't we all expect to be arrested and thrown in jail?
