Immigration laws send Hispanics elsewhere
2 states that approved crackdowns have seen an exodus of illegals
By Dan McFeely
February 24, 2008
Thousands of illegal immigrants have fled the two states that have enacted tough new immigration laws similar to the one before the Indiana General Assembly.
Indiana, home to an estimated 85,000 illegal immigrants, is not alone in trying to address illegal immigration. Legislatures in 46 states adopted 244 immigration-related measures last year, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

\Circus town hit hard
Back in Oklahoma, the state's new law and the national debate over immigration are wreaking havoc on the state's circus industry.
It may be bad for the economy for the short run but it's our governments fault that we've become so dependent on them. Oklahoma's unemployment rate was at an all time especially in Tulsa and OKC a little after 1804 was passed. I'm all for 1804, get the illegals out of here and give them to those American citizens that have lost their jobs, if they don't want them then that's their fault.
If the pay is there then an American citizen will work, instead these contractors and farm owners are making more than they should by paying illegals 2, 3, or 4 bucks an hour.
Try again: if the USA is so addicted the the labor of illegal immigrants----------we deserve to die as a nation.
While I don't believe that we need illegals in this country- if we really did need them so much so that our country would collapse without them-then yes we would deserve to die as a nation.
I never believed the ends justify the means. If the American economy can't get by without an illegal labor force, then it's time for Americans to realize you can't have everything you want at a low price.
The media would have us believe that we are "entitled" to have every gadget and electronic we want, and at low prices. We should have all year round fruits and vegetables that are normally grown in season. We should be able to throw away things that break, instead of fixing them because we're "entitled."
The consumer mentality that Americans have may be good for the economy, but is it good for the soul?
