With the exception of Arizona Bear's first post, there is a distinct indifference to the deaths of human beings as compared to the perceived larger greatness of the crime of illegal immigration.

I find that very shocking, though maybe reveling was a bit strong.

I'll be the first to admit to my 'indifference', I've got bigger problems to deal with than a truckload of illegals getting themselves killed on the highway. And 'getting themselves killed' is EXACTLY what they did. I think the $250,000 in LifeFlight costs should be billed to the Mexican Consulate, too.

Agree. Maybe Mexico in turn can send less oil to the USA as well. Things are never as simple as it seems.

So Mexican oil is the bludgeon that keeps the borders open? I seriously doubt it.

Mexico is almost completely dependent on US refineries for their refined products. Things never are as simple as they seem.
In the long run it would be terrific if we could wean ourselves off any dependence on Mexico for anything. Then they could stay on their side of the fence and we will stay on ours.

Arkansas, Nov 15th, 2006.

Billy Bob and 18 of his friends wanted to see the new Garth Brooks show at the Arkansas Outdoor Music Expo, but having spent their money getting drunk on beer decided to sneak in through the back woods of the national park.

All 19 of them pilled into Billy Bob’s Suburban SUV, a vehicle designed to only hold at most 9 People. Crammed into positions that would make a California Yoga Instructor envious, they started off through the park in a vehicle containing 1000 pounds more then the engineers at Chevy had ever thought anyone would try to carry. Not surprisingly over half of them were not wearing seatbelts, because the vehicle designers failed to consider that 19 drunken Rednecks might try to double the capacity of their already over sized SUV and failed to attach seatbelts to the roof, floor, and glove box.

Everything went fine until this circus clown car reject hit one of the many gullies that run through the Arkansas State Park, Flipped over and removed 9 of these idiots from the gene pool.

This falls into the Darwin Awards category. Most people have little sympathy for them because it was a result of their own actions, while committing a crime. If as I wrote above, and yes that is fictional, you replace Illegal Mexican with Dumb Redneck and the crime “sneaking into a country” with “sneaking into a concert” many who are Illegal supporters would be laughing at the stupidity of those crazy Red Necks.

Check out the Darwin awards to see that this matches those sorts of stories. Most people feel little sympathy when someone dies while doing a criminal act in a stupider then average way.

I'm sure they were checked and calibrated before they left for their trip, right after they performed their signal and brake light check. All fluids were checked and topped off as well.

As you stated in a nutshell.

And I am something of a 'Redneck' myself

Didn't say that. But greed is one of the reasons why we have open borders. Greed from producers and greed from consumers. Hey, everyone wants a quality product at the cheapest price possible...And every producer wants to make as much profit from the products as possible. Can't have it both way unless you cut corners somewhere...obv it was been in the use of an illegal work force.
